New Member in Greenville, SC

Hello!

I've been lurking around for some time and I've decided to finally join, so let me introduce myself.

My name is Jacob and I live in Greenville, South Carolina. I'm currently fixing/building a '72 CB350 that I nabbed off of craigslist for a song. Before this CB, I had a CB650SC that I regrettably sold to finance the move to SC. I bought something new and shiny after we moved down, but I caught the bug for another old CB last summer and I've been working on this one ever since. I'm not particularly talented at it and I've accepted that it's going to cost a great deal more than simply buying a properly functioning machine.

Without further ado, pictures:

Welcome to DTT! I live in Charleston. If you ever need something for your bike let me know...I have a bunch of 350 stuff sitting around. CHEERS!

Welcome! I'm in Greenville as well.

When the weather gets warmer you should check out The Handlebar about 7 on Wednesday evenings if you haven't already. It is a small vintage bike group that meets there.

And if you happen to go to any of the Greenville roller derby events, I am always there.

At first I thought I recognized your bike, but I think the one I looked at was a CL. What are you planning to do to it?

Fantastic! I'm probably going to take you up on that once I've sorted out my ignition and get this damn thing running.

I've heard about the Handlebar meetup and I've been meaning to make it there, but schedule never permits. I'm sure I'll make it there this spring. Is there a forum/meetup group/something where it's orchestrated or is it just a show up sort of thing?

No specific plans with the CB, yet. Just trying to get it running and usable, if ugly. I have some GP bike replica aspirations, but I'm more interested in just riding it at the moment!

There is a FB group, "OCR! old crap riders", but there isn't much traffic. Most people just show up.

Greetings from Augusta, GA. Good to have more in the area. I grew up in the Upstate not too far away. My parents live in Greer, just down the road, about a mile from the BMW plant and the airport.

I'm actually in Greer as well! I just use Greenville as my location when I'm introducing myself to a bunch of strangers :)

I've got a cb350 torn apart right now :)

Don't let her fool you. She has no intention of ever putting that thing back together.

:p

I've actually been to the handlebar the only time I've ever been in Greenville when I saw unknown Henson play there

I am in Greenville too. Well, actually Greer also but close enough. Currently have an 81 Kz750 torn apart that I intend on building a semi cafe racer/ tracker out of. Still meeting at the handlebar? Might try to make it one night.

Hello neighbor, I'm in Greer as well. Accordingly to the FB group, they're meeting at Mac's for the foreseeable future because of construction around Handlebar.

I'll probably have the wife and baby girl. I'd love to hang out and meet everyone, if that's cool. Since my g-mo is just down the street, we'll probably stay there (although camping sounds more fun).
