New Member Intro and my new project '86 Radian

Hi! I've been lurking for a couple months when I got my first street project bike and learning a lot. I picked up this '86 Radian with 26k on her in a barely running state and was sitting for a long time. It's a low budget build, not sure if I'll keep this bike for a long time, or get bored of it but right now it's getting a special place in my heart since it's my first bike and I'm learning a lot while doing all the work myself. Joined this site for input and learning and to ogle over all the bada** bikes on here!

So far - what I've done to it in for my first 3 months of ownership:

New Battery, tires, keys (bought with a clean title, but they lost the keys so had a locksmith cut new keys), changed fork oil (wish I went with 15w or 20w instead of the stock 10w), new brake pads up front and brake fluid, temporarily fixed 2 fuses (will change whole fuse box), new valve cover gasket, oil and filter, new clutch cable, relocated and replaced rear turn signals, headlight bulb, spark plugs, carb boots, replaced pilot and jets and pilot screws and cleaned carb, recovered the seat (will redo in black), fabricated a new metal rear fender piece and relocated the brake light back into the fender a little more, bobbed the front fender because it was cracked, new drag bars and grips. It runs pretty good but think it also needs a valve adjustment and carb sync. Oh, also managed to put 1500 miles on her since I got her running.

Anyways, I'm looking for any suggestions/input on the path this bike is taking. Next I plan on painting the motor, replacing the rear plastic fender and painting the plastics and tank satin black (with maybe a stripe), redo the seat cover in black, and install a round headlight and new levers, shorty exhaust and bar end mirrors. Nothing crazy. So far I have about $1100 into it, that includes the first year registration of about $130, here's some pics...appreciate any input! (oh, and what would you call this look? i.e. street fighter, cafe, etc?).

When I brought her home:

How she currently looks (sorry, best pics I have right now):

This picture is before I fixed the front fender, still had the stock bars and rear fender but thought it was a cool shot.

definitely round headlight, would be tough to change up the seat without changing the tank too

Yeah, I'm going to order the headlight this weekend. As far as the seat, I'm only going to change the cover to a black vinyl instead of the brown, not going to change the shape at all for now. Today I pulled off the original chrome mirrors and put on 1 bar end mirror, looks a lot cleaner and my arm is not in the way of the rear view anymore.

I have always liked the radians, kind of an underrated bike in my opinion, i know a guy that raced one of these, he and the bike were fast as hell, he went to the states to race and was not allowed on some minor technicality.....but because he travelled so far to race the officials let him run the bike (no points awarded though)....and the rest of the racers spent the weekend looking at the tail end of the radian!!

Just re-covered the seat in black vinyl, removed the stock mirrors and put on a bar end mirror with the drag bars, and completed the round headlight conversion and removed the stock turn signals and mounts (Love the new look!). Just need to do the front turn signals now. Any suggestions on new signals and mounting?
