Hello everyone;

I am a new member obviously! My best friend and I have started a new business together but still plan to keep the day jobs. We started a company called Cafe Fabrications and our mission is to build bikes and parts for the aftermarket crowd.. Specifically the cafe crowd! I don't have a photobucket account but you can check out the blog on our project. We are getting a little beat up with the caferacer.net site but I will deal with those guys soon. So thanks for having us and tell me what you think of the bike so far. Good or bad we don't really care you can't please all the people all the time.

Hey man welcome... love the 750 you got there, real sweet... and don't worry about the caferacernet guys... it is a different place here at DTT. I love the idea you and your buddy have, I am getting ready to do the same thing with a friend. Anyway, welcome to the sickness ;D

that's pretty cool! the caferacer site seems to be a place where people come to enforce the 'rules'. I may be wrong, I looked around a bit, but not too much. I like this place better for some reason. more openness, varied builds.

I hate rules. a lot of sickle riders use the 'freedom' word a lot. but then they put themselves in itty bitty boxes. i.e. a cafe racer must have these parts to qualify, or if you wanna be in our gang you must ride in this formation and kick up to the boss. very diff examples, but you get my drift?

fukk rules. make yer own. build what you like and ride how ya want.

Welcome to DTT. Fuck the caferacer.net scene. They do more bitchin and moanin than building and riding. The blog is pretty awesome, as is the 750 you guys are tossin together there.

where are you out of???

Who want's to know? Just kidding we are out of two places at the moment. Our stuff is built in Alabama and Sales will happen from both AL and Sloatsburg, NY. Not that far from Rochester. Sales will take place mostly from NY.

No but you might see me if you wanna dude to chill with! There are several Alabamians on the site, myself being from Birmingham. I'm always down for good company.

Good to see you here! Yeah, the .net crowd can be pretty abrasive but there IS a deep well of knowledge there if you can hack the vibe.
As you can see, things are a bit friendlier here so it's a good joint to hang in. Nice start on the bike...where did you get your wheel blanks?

Welcome! Don't worry about the caferacer.net guys, their abrasive behavior is unjustified and it almost made me abandon my build.

At first I was impressed with their zero tolerance for mickey mouse builds. My opinion of them quickly changed. I completely lost all respect for them when they were tearing apart some member's ride for using the single shear of a bolt to hold up shorty exhaust, at that point I realized they were absolutely useless because I looked up the specs for that bolt and it's max shear loading capacity meant it had a factor of safety of like 20! They were tearing him apart for not fitting their cookie cutter ideals.

Fortunately in the short amount of time I have been here, I haven't found any of those shenanigans around here.

I also haven't found many mickey mouse builds either...

looks awesome man! hell i dig the wheel blanks! i think they look trick, i would not cut them, if you need them CNC cut i have the equiptment

Thanks for the good words everyone. Feel free to be a bit critical too... I am not worried about those guy's at cr.net. There are a lot of people over there that have a good bit of knowledge on bikes / racing. Whether they believe me or not I can respect that about them. I also really don’t mine their criticisms about our build and what we’re doing. I never intended on racing the motorcycle and never will. That is the biggest fault I see over there is they think all bikes should be raced. CF does like building cool shit that works. If it does not work then I guess we will redo it no harm in that! I will see or meet a lot of them in Brooklyn this summer so I will deal with it then. I don’t have countless hrs to spend on the computer like some.
JRK5892 : appreciate your offer to cut the wheels. CF’s has full CNC capabilities with the possibility to add a 3rd CNC Machine. You can find the wheels from these guys. http://www.allamericanwheel.com/
We have cut car wheels up to 24in’s from solid Aluminum and this is a much easier and economical way of cutting wheels.
Hope to see some of the people here this summer in Brooklyn, NY… We will be finishing the bike at the end of this month so watch the blog for pics.

Hey man, I am in the middle of a cafe build and need a seat and tank on the relative cheap. I've looked at some of the bigger names (like Carpy out in California) but they seem pretty impressed by themselves and charge an arm and your firstborn for custom parts. Could you give me an estimate on a custom tank? I have a 1975 Honda CB550. I'm lookin for something kinda boxy with knee inserts and I'd like to keep the classic gas cap on it. If you want to trade e-mails I could give you more of an idea of what I would like.

Checked out your blog and am excited to see how this new CF turns out. Those wheels are pretty sick my man. Please get back to me. I appreciate it. Cheers.

I saw your bike, GSalter, this weekend in Nashville. I'm sorry I did not get the opportunity to meet you, but Jesse's folks and Ted were great to talk with and represent your business well.
To say this bike is impressive is such an understatement. The photos do it no justice what so ever. The attention to detail and the level of workmanship is amazing.

Well done!
