Hey everyone. New here at D.T.T.
i need some help.
i have a Honda 73' CB350 sitting in my garage. i need to get it turned into a cafe racer STAT.

i'm coming home from Afghanistan very soon and i want to get it up and running for the spring. it needs minor engine work that will be no problem at all.

This will be my first bike, and i blame my instant obsession of Cafe Racers to Pipe Burn. I want the bike to kinda look like this CB77 just with my 350 obviously. http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2009/6/18/thrilla-in-manila.html Clearly the second one not the chrome one. looking for a Ratbike kinda feel. i love the style cause its just pure rock and roll. I just need some help with stuff like Frame, electrical, weight distribution, seats, ect. As being that my father is a lover of Motor cycles and knows a ton about engines this shouldn't be to hard.

any help possible would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hey Westley, I would like to be the first person to welcome you to DTT and thank you for your service!!! I really look forward to your build and there will definitely be plenty of guys on our forums that will help you out!!! Unfortunately I can't help out since I have a Suzuki,lol...But I will show my support for the Honda riders :)

Welcome, Westley.

There are many, many experienced people here who will be more than happy to help you out. In fact, much more experience than I. There are two bits of advice I'd like to offer: First, every bike has a soul and as you start your build, that soul will emerge. The bike will tell you the direction in which it wants to go... and how long it will take. Use all those other bikes you see for inspiration, but your bike will be unique and this will be good. Second, if you are new to riding, get yourself into an MSF class. It's been said before, but it will be the best $250 you'll ever spend.

Get home safe and thank you for your service.

Hey Westley, Welcome to dotheton!

As said above you will find tons of people that can help you out with your build. I'll try and give somethin' ;D I used to have some hondas in the past but have a suzuki now so it's faded off a little! Im likin the direction you want to go with it! That CB77 is rad!

Thank you for your service.

Make it home safe, I'll be heading over there soon. Check out https://airs.lmi.org thats where you can sign up for the safety classes free if your military. Since its required to ride on post, let them foot the bill.

hey, really Appreciate that. i'm gonna def look into that. i'm totally down with the Army paying for my knowledge.

and to everyone else that posted thanks for the welcomes and the support. cant wait to be home in a few weeks and get to work!

Yeah, no problem. I try to get the army to pay for everything I can. And it gets you out of work for 2 days. And alot of states taking the course means you only need to take the written test to get your license. Just be sure to take the card in with you.

That's the way it worked for me here in California.
