Hey guys, I've been lurking here for about 1 week, and after seeing some of the advice that you give and design ideas that you have, I had to join and say hello. One year ago I started buying Honda CBs from 1970-1976, six 350's, one 450 and two 550's. I bought clymer books and fixed them up slowly. They are nothing compared to what I have seen on this site so far, but I am slowly learning. I can do clip-ons, I can't wait to learn rear sets and cafe seats. Also hiding the battery under the seat. I've sold 4 so far, and currently have six. Here are 2 of my 350's

If you know how to rebuild them and make them look that good, rear sets, seats, smaller batteries, etc. shouldn't be a problem at all. The best advice I can give on the rear sets and seats is buy 1 top shelf product of each and really check them out. You'll learn so much from store bought rearsets that if you want to make your own it'll be pretty easy.
for cafe seats i'm following loco leon's idea about cutting up an old tank. I have some rusted random 125cc-300cc tanks i bought at a garage sale. i'll update with pics when i get a chance.
random additional question: how does one shorten throttle or clutch cables? is it possible?
Nice bikes man, I too dig the dropped headlite. Makes the bike look like it's hunkered down, ready to spring forward!
You may want to think about bringing your tail lights out from under the seat like that though....nifty as it looks, it also appears that a good bump could bring the tire into contact....that's bad.
i had a strange feeling that you were in LA. nice looking bikes. how is that headlight held on way out there? and where do you get all of your bikes? SOcal prices are too much
so cal prices are ridiculous! i once imported a 450 from upstate new york. i think it came out quite well

yes the tail light has been injured before... had to replace it. i take bumps with caution. can anyone recommend a good rectangular taillight that would fit easily into cafe seats?

I don't know how big your fork tubes are but www.MikesXS.com has some pretty cool head light brackets (also, TwistedWheels did a good write up in the $50 mod thread). Don't know what to say about the tail light. It's kind of a cluster but there's taillightking.com or thetaillightking.com - can't remember which
