Been Around the Block
I just picked up a KZ550, bike ran so $475 was a good price, tearing it down now, want to do a brat/cafe style bike (yeah duh?) like everything about a brat but the skateboard seat so have to play with it. Anybody in WA say hello.
Attached is the ugly duckling I bought

Welcome and good luck man. May the odds be ever in your favor =)

Welcome! I'm down in California for school most of the year, but I'm back up in WA for breaks and such. Looking forward to see where it goes!

Where in Cali, I am from Los Angeles, moved to Denver in 99 then Anacortes last labor day.
Steve

I'm in San Luis Obispo.
Did you go to the Oyster run this year? My girlfriend kept telling me I should go, but I was already back at school so I couldn't.

Welcome! Good luck w/ your build. My older brother lives in Concrete, WA, I believe not too far from you. If you ever need some custom machinist work done let me know and I'll put you in contact w/ him. He did the custom top triple on my build and has the most pure mechanical ability of anybody I've ever known. I always refer to him as the "Mad Scientist."

Hi, I'm from Los Angeles and yes did the Oyster run, it's amazing how many bikes in one place as I have never been to Sturgis etc.

Pass along his info and thanks, I bought this bike in Concrete, maybe an hour or less drive if it's not raining, would like to make my own clip ons, thought about buying a mini mill to do that kind of work, something that looks more Italian than Shanghai goofy colors

When it's not raining? Is that about, what, five days a year? ;D No problem, I'll send a PM w/ his name and phone number. I'm never sure how often he checks his email but I'll send that as well.

It's amazing, thanking global warming, it's been so un-rainy here since I moved here a year ago, been coming here my whole life and it's probably rained less than a couple weeks in a year, much more in Seattle.
