Hi...found this site through the Facebook group.

I am an active member of the CVMG (GPR section) and have been restoring old bikes for about 12 years now. Cafe bikes I have restored include a rare genuine '72 Dunstall Norton 810 and a '72 Laverda 750SF.

Current rides are a '99 Ducati Monster 750, '51 Vincent Black Shadow and a newly aquired '70 Triumph Bonneville.

Current restoration projects: 1965 Honda CM90 SuperCub (...yes a Cub...90cc!!) and a 1966 Harley-Davidson (Aermacchi) Sprint H 250cc.

Most Sundays you can find me at Famous Sam's Restaurant with the rest of the GPR crew.

Thanks. This is a great site.

This is the before picture. I just got the bike back from the painters and it looks amazing! I will post some progress pictures shortly.

Welcome Ronnie.

I've been out a few times to Famous Sam's, and recall afew cubs there a couple times, including the one in the back of the truck. May even be some pictures here in the Sunday Morning meet thread in the Gatherings section.

I hope to make it out Sunday mornings next season as well. I've kinda given up on the rest of this season. Too cold in the early mornings.
The CVMG still meeting there?

That's not my bike but it's a real deal Dunstall. Mine had a Lucas competition magneto on it (non-standard...but cool). Damn....look at the current bid price.....$17,100.00 US. I sold mine for $10k.

Looks like you should have held off for a year ;)

This is the current picture....just got all the body work back from the painter. I have been slowly restoring it over the last 4 years. My friend fished it out of the dump!! (see before pic for dump bike details).

It's not fast. It's not valuable. But it is oh so cool.

Are you going to build the H-D/Aermacchi into a replica Road Racer? They look great all kitted out like that!

They don't sound too bad either(the black one)! Ok,maybe the 50cc two stroker sounds like a Weed whacker, but my bike probably will too! ;D

That's what "I" wanted to do but this is my wife's bike and she wants it bone stock for shows. I have been thinking of finding another one and making a cool cafe out of it. They can be had fairly cheap.

Now if I can only find a CRTT......hmmmm.

Look at the trick frames and other goodies on this site:

http://www.aermacchi-racing.com/

The Harley-Davidson Sprint is based on a really pretty bike called the Aermacchi Ala d'oro (see below). I have a cafe based on the Ala d'oro in mind...European styled with Harley badges on it.

Our Sprint H will look like the black and white one below. Currently the frame is out for powder coating and the crank is out being rebuilt. Still quite a bit to do on it.

Nice and already has the look if you could get one together.
I rode a cobbled together Harley 250 two-stroke dirt bike(down-tube MX framed) that my father-in law had for a while.
I pieced it together from parts from 3-4 bikes and called it "Frankenhog". It had pretty good power for what it was.

One day a buddy of mine and I were having a jumping contest over a small 3-31/2 ft dirt ramp to see who could go the farthest.
Well, after a few good jumps and while he just landed another jump the top of the right side rear shock SNAPPED and of course being that the spring was coiled at that moment it shot into the air hitting/sideswiping my buddies elbow on the way up. He didn't crash though, but our day was done and my father-in-law sold the bike soon after to a friend of his.
