Well here goes, I saved this bike from being stripped and parted out on ebay! I have worked next to RJ's motor sports for ten years, finally got them to give me a bike! Lots of begging, they just wanted me to shut up...... Hahaha. Free bike and it ran!!!!! Thanks roger!!!!!! This is the day I got it.
Trying to get you guys caught up on where my bike is. It has come together really fast. I have been on vacation so I have had a lot of tinker time. I'm hoping that this isn't just another cb400 build, I haven't looked at a lot of bikes. Just building what I think looks good and looked around here to fill in the blanks. I hope you all enjoy the build
Have been waiting for a clutch case cover that was cracked and gaskets, came in today so tonight or tomorrow night it should be running again. Got new bars today and did the whole wiring harness over the last couple days. So far everything is going smoothly. Just waiting on my seat and air filters.
So many free parts from the owner of RJ's it's crazy....... I have almost nothing into this bike other than time. Guess it's my turn to receive. I always help those guys with there trucks and there welding, I'm just so lucky!!!!!!!! Super pumped about this whole project. Bought a nice new helmet today and figured out a unique way to hide my wiring and battery (coming soon). Thanks for looking!
Being that this is my first build and I didn't have a set plan to start, I keep on doing what I think will look good to me. The last couple days the bike has taken over........ The seat naturally when where it went and turned out very comfortable. I didn't like where it was but I tried other locations and this was most comfortable. Still no idea for a rear fender and tail light. Today I was playing around with a couple things I had laying around. A couple cuts later and the bike was completely different but I think I like it! The seat now looks right and the bike has a real vintage feel to it. Please let me know what you guys think and if I should keel going this direction.
