Been Around the Block
Figured I'd stop lurking on all the café forums and finally join up on one of them.
Normally a car guy, I essentially finished my projects and decided to get into motorcycles over the winter. I've never rode one in my life (26 now) and decided I'd pick up an old vintage and turn into a cafe.
Thus, I ended up with a stockish '74 CB360. Starts and runs a little rough until it warms up. There's a bit of backfiring on the right side, it likes to take awhile to drop back down to idle while riding, but otherwise fairly solid. Horn doesn't work and the turn signals decided to stop blinking (they just light up solid when switched over). Perhaps a dead relay/fuse/or just the fact the battery is near dead? I'm not sure yet.
But, enough talk, here's some pics of the day I brought it home.
Current plans are to pull the motor and take a look at the internals. All new gaskets, bolts, and replacing anything worn out are in order. New handlebars (still up in the air about clip ons or clubmans), new lighting to clean up the horribly large lights, rearsets, linkage, re-lace the wheels and clean all of that up, get anything that doesn't work fixed up, and basically rock it hard next year while I learn how to ride. Winter of 2014 I'll be tearing it to frame and actually doing a full rebuild.
So, yeah, that's my story. 8)
