high fives and coconuts
Hi Tonner's, I am a new member, will try post up some pics and a couple vids here of my ride, a BMW bob-afe-whatever-chop-cycle.
Not strictly a cafe or bobber I don't think but I think it is a fine bike. First off, I did not build it (I know, shame on me, but as of yet I have not had the time or space to be a builder). As there are many great builders on here I hope that a non-builder is good company as well, I want to soon start working on bikes myself as it is embarassing not knowing how to wrench on my own machine, and there are a lot of creative interests that need to be done by myself as it is just not possible for someone else to know your vision as you do as I am sure you people know. Anyway, I am in Vancouver (well in May again) and look forward to talking with you and checking out your bikes. cheers. Mangonotforget.

Wow! Whoever did build that has some fuckin talent! What a machine!
Welcome to DTT man! Theres no time like the present to start on one of your own. Theres guys here building bikes in 5th floor NYC apartments, on the gravel driveway, in barns, basements and living rooms man. If you want to do it just do it! Theres always a way! And the folks here are always happy to help. Greatest damn forum on the interwebs, for sure. Find an old beater, buy a cheap mechanics tool set and get wrenchin! We have your back! And if your ever in Pittsburgh and need someone to, ya know, test out that Beemer, just lemme know... ;)

I sooooo dig that headlight, very cool, love how it is finned to mimic the cyls. Very well thought out, the more you look at it the more you see the details, NICE.

just an awesome ride I also love the headlight and the detail in the bars! SO SO CLEAN! those bars are the shit!

Cool, thanks guys, I agree with you forefanajd, the bike does seem steam punk to me, a sort of idea of the furture as seen from the
1920's. The builder is an Austrian engineer and head of manufacturing for a company in BC, he was inspired by several builders but also by
one of my favourites, Shinya Kimura, who I think has a stripped down, functionalist, steam-punk type thing happening. I also agree wtih you VonYiner, it does start with a tool set and a project, I hope to connect with some people in Vancouver to share a space and tools and also get advice on the praticalities of doing things. Oh, and I will post some new pics of the bike when I get back to Van as it has had some work done, just some ideas I had like an old glass/brass doorknob for the oil filler cap and other details. Mangonotforget.

welcome!
you might not have your own project yet, but at least you've got good taste :D
