Hey guys my name is Frank and im from the Boston area in MA. Last summer i picked up a cl350 for 300 bucks. I rode it around until september. Since, I have torn it down, painted and polished everything and added some cool parts too. Here are some pictures of where im at with the build.
So the big stuff I really bought for it are woodcraft clipons, r1 rear sets, new cables, ebc brake shoes, monroe rear shocks from a 750, posh grips, avon tires, and bronze swingarm bushings with new oem inner collars. Its pretty much just a stock bike with a different riding position. I am planning on making my own seat in the next few weeks, then hopefully il be riding it in march!
I'd be interested in how you attatched the r1 rearsets-I have a set of the r1s for my 75 cb 360-I haven't put them on yet and I'm not sure how they're going to clear the orig mufflers. I may have to go to a cl exhaust or at least a lower hanging aftermarket.
Exactly they went right through and ace hardware makes a sweet little anodized black spacer that fits like it was made for the application. There is just a little tab on the levers that you need to file down t sit flush with the rest of the spacer. For now even the r1 linkage is working for the shifter. You will have to make one for the brake though. I am sorry but I am not sure about the clearance issues with cb pipes. My bike had high pipes when I got it. I can eyeball them on my friends stocker if you want.
