New to me cb350

Just bought a 1972 honda cb350. Originally i was gonna buy a bike then customize it to be a cafe/brat style but i found this one locally already done up a bit so i jumped on it. Still needs some of my own touches so i have some work to do. So far i have ricks hot shot charging system coming for it, stator and regulator do-hicky thing. Because right now its not charging. Also i have some other odds and ends coming too. One question is should i look into electronic ignition? Its running fairly well but points just make me cringe. I dont mind them but i like the fact of not worrying about them. Anyhow First and foremost i need a new seat. I want a brat style seat either totally flat or a bit upswept. I tried finding one online and they all seem to be universal. Is there any out there that are bolt in? I could weld the tubing on the back. If someone could point me in the right direction id appreciate it. Also i wouldn't mind doing small style turn signals on the back but i would need to locate turn signal switch. And also how would i go about doing a small low profile speedometer and tach? And lastly after that new charging system is there a brighter headlight i can run? Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions. This is my first motorcycle but familiar with two wheels, used to race motocross for years the brown bike is the style seat i want.

The points arent bad to adjust on these. Unfortunately the 350 twins are hard to find electronic ignition conversions for. I had little luck finding a kit for mine...they all seemed to be discontinued. Turn signals are pretty easy i would suggest taking one off and getting a feel for it. Almost any will work with minor modification. Led will require a new flasher(under the seat and side cover right side). Smaller gauges are plentiful for these and an easy swap. Just make sure the speedo ratio is correct. You'll see it listed as you are shopping. I miss my cb350. Good luck!

Hey thanks for the info!! Well i got the new charging system in and a new chain on. The install on ricks stuff was easy and went great. Now its charging and i can actually ride with the headlight on!! Im gonna go and buy a better bulb now that is brighter too. As far as the seat goes i cut out some sheet metal and im just going to make a new back section for this existing seat. Ill post pics when its done: Just gotta track down a tig welder now
