new toy 76 kz400, ideas?

Yamatech

Two wheels, one love.
Just purchad this cherry 76 kz400 from my 85 year old neighbor who rode this beast regularly. I love shooting shit with old gear heads. Anyways this thing is a blast to ride, great shape, low miles and its a head turner. Only thing I have done is replace the giant spotlight turn signals with minis. Looking to spruce it up just a bit and make it look cleaner than it already is. Thinking of superbike bars, shortening the front fender, maybe reshaping the seat, need ideas for the ass end (tail light, fender). Would love to see some of your guys kzs or just hear ideas. Tell me what you think.

I know man the grips are evil, and yeah i hadnt decided if I want to keep it as is or go further. Its just a blast to cruise on as is.

Beautiful bike! You should definately leave it as it is - I would have chosen orange indicators, fits the bike much better in my opinion.
Looks like a great bike, have fun!

very nice ride! i wouldn't chop it up. be bad karma to cut into a work of art. but bolt on is easy, and you can always go bake to original. some clubmans bars, bar end mirrors, and maybe something with the tail light/plate mount. the rest lokks pretty damn sweat already. thats my 2 cents.

thats what I think I've decided on, some smaller bars (not such a bend to them) and grips, then probably figure something out with the tail light without chopping or cutting just to make it more flush and clean then I think it would be done. Any input on some good performing tires, not too worried about the life of them as I dont drive too far but want something that handles excellent without breaking the bank.

Those are some extras I had laying around, probably going to change them out soon, but I have them as running lights as well and they are amber color, the lenses arent though.

For a taillight look into one for a Z1/KZ900,the 400's big brother.
If she runs like a top, work on chassis and brakes and keep her supertuned.

Thanks guys apreciate the help, anyone know where to get carb kits for this thing? My resources are almost tapped, thats the only thing is it wont idle without some help of the throttle and one carb is leaking from the floatbowl.
