Newb from Michigan

Hello everyone! I'm in the process of trying to find a winter project to do a cafe style bike with and came across this site while surfing the net. So far I have my eyes set on a 83 GS1100 or a 76 CB360. That's what I've found locally in my price range anyway. LOL Right now I'm on a 01 FZ1 but it's for sale. I'm in Michigan near Detroit.

That surprises me because it seems like I rarely see any cafe bike in the area. I'm actually Downriver and I ride a lot around Monroe.

welcome! I'm in Ypsi. There'll be one more cafe on the Michigan roads in the spring when I finally finish mine.

Well, the GS1100 fell through. I'm sick of dealing with these freaking weirdo sellers on Craigslist. LOL
 
Sorry to hear the bike fell thru. Be patient and you'll find a gem. Lots of bikes for sale in Michigan. I'm in Lake Orion, hope to get some mitten men together this spring for some rides.
 
Welcome, man. I'm in Coldwater, soon to be in Kalamazoo. I wouldn't worry too much about the bike falling through, it seems like every day there's another cheap bike going up online. Looking forward to seeing what you end up with.
 
Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm not bummed or anything. I just sick of dealing with these people sometimes. It's like they want to sell the bike and they all "need cash asap!" but they don't want to send pics or answer questions. I'm not driving to look at a bike an hour away if I could tell from a picture it was junk. LOL It's not like I NEED a bike. They act like they are doing you a favor for selling the bike when it should be the other way around. I really like the ones that tell you how many people are coming to look at the bike and a month later the bike is still being posted for sale. It's either a complete pile of junk or they lied about the actual interest the bike generated or both. I'll find one soon enough.
