Ok, please forgive my ignorance. But I need to know how to lower the front end of my cm400. I'm gonna get new shocks for the rear...but I'm stumped on the front. How do I lower them without hitting my clubmans? Any and all help would be appreciated!!! Again. THANK YOU ANYBODY

You have a few choices....

1) offset bar mounts. These bolt into the original locations and mover your bars either fore or aft. Not my favorite methose but do-able.

2) cut a couple loops off your springs and let the forks droop. Again, not the best but will get you there.

3) Have the forks shortened. This will save you some of the travel and will also allow you to preload the forks again.

4) Fork swap?

5) Clip-on bars. Best choice all around in my opinion.

Why do you want to lower it?

I've seen clubmans mounted below the tree as well. It scares what was done to undermount them, but it seems to work out OK.

On the CB360 I built, I lowered the front an inch, just 'cause. The clubmans didn't touch them.

Did the exact same on mine... weird.

You should be able to get 1 to 2" of drop before contacting the bars.

I'd post a pic, but I'm at work...if you look at my "new member intro" I've got some pics on there. I want to lower the front end a bit because my bike was originally built to be a cruiser...sorta...I want to make the front end drop and get that staight across look. BUt, really...any suggestions on how to make my ride more cafe would be awesome.

Have a look at Milenko's project. We're getting ready to chop the whole back half off the bike and weld in 1" DOM instead. The forks on his bike are 33mm, just like many of the Honda twins. I have a set of CB360 forks and a disk brake wheel that is for sale if you're interested. From memory, it is 1 1/2" shorter than the CM forks.
