Hey guys my name is hans and im somewhat new to the forum but not new to vintage motorcycles..currently i have 5 in all various stages
Im a 23 year old college student studying industrial design, going to be a furniture designer/motorcycle designer
i work at wholefoods and redwing shoes and have a love for motorcycles that just cant be tamed and i aim to keep it that way
the first is my most loved bike, audrey, 1970 cb750, shes been lowered 2 inches front and back has 4 into 2 criss cross pipes clubmans, a converted h4 bucket with a yellow halogen bulb, a hand carved and covered by me single seat, and other than that shes stocks..

The second is candy named by the original owner after the iggy pop song, 1973 cb750 shes fantastic i picked her up having not run in 15 years and did a massive cleanup and tune up, then added some clubman bars, shes got konis in the rear progressive in the front, a kerker 4 into 1 and k and n pods, this bike is my daily rider and is a fantastic bike to me.

The third is kandy with a k although she use to be candy with a c shes a 1974 suzuki gt 185 two stroke this is my ladys ride with 1500 original miles, i recovered the seat with white and then put some drag bars on it other than that shes stock and is a blast to ride, i like to ride this bike around the city as its nimble and perky..

The 4th is THE CHOPPER i pulled this out of a warehouse where it had been stored since 1978 its a 1972 cb750 and its in realtively nice shape.. i took it for parts for my other 2 cb750s but didnt need them so she has been sitting waiting for her overhall...someday

And the last is my most current project its a 1974 cb360t, a really neat bike thats going to be a cafe also, so far ive lowered it 2 inches and got it running, theres not alot more to do but its definately still in project state

Im doing a paint job on audrey right now, im going with gunmetal metal flake for the job including the fenders.
Its coming out pretty decent then its on to the 360..

Cool bikes and shop. I think the '73 750 is my favorite.

Welcome to DTT.

Thanks man, its hard for me to choose between the 73 and the 70, the 70 is very loud and very fast and low, the 73 is mostly all stock and sounds like an indie car with the kirker and handles amazingly, generally if its a ride up in the mountains i hop on the 73, if its a ride through the city i hop on the 70, the 73 is actually for sale right now but im probably going to end up sitting on it till spring

Cool bikes ;D ;D ;D . I love the new seat on Audry but I would say Candy is my favorite. All the chopper needs is a good clean-up, king/queen seat, and six over forks (hehehe). Oh yeah...... is that my old buddy and favorite ex-New Yorker Fidel Castro    on your garage wall........

Thanks! im suprised candy is the favorite of you guys because its almost completely stock except for clubmans. Audrey is still my love though, something about being my first motorcycle i would guess. Yeah the chopper got a good clean up i need to replace alot of little crap on it that will add up, and yes i did sell the brown seat but im not going the king queen route unless i turn it into another cafe seat, a buddy of mine builds 750 choppers so ill probably turn it over to him and let him do his magic to her and turn one of his into a cafe in return. Thats actually a painting of richard pryor haha but fidel would probably feel right at home..HAHAHA

I have done a couple of bobbers in the last two years. One was a 70's style sporty (gave it to my oldest son last year) and the other is a little 69' Triumph Daytona with a hard tail. Won several trophys with each of them, if you like that kind of thing. I just go to shows to show off my bikes and don't care whether I win or lose. I also have a 750 Honda project that I am gathering parts for. Going to build it and sell it..... will be cafe style with clubman bars, cafe seat, and 4 into 4 black exhaust. Right now I am involved with three other projects which , I hope , will be done by fall. Then I will start on both the cafe Honda and my $200 cafe BSA....... Richard Prior, Hell, he was crazier than Fidel ever was.......   .

That's sweet ive only had honda's and suzuki's, but some day ill have owned most im sure. Ive only been riding for a year and a half and have had 6 different bikes in that little time frame, Audrey is the only one that is permanent I must admit i love riding them but working on them makes me feel just as good. I always have my eye out on another project so if a $200 bsa ever comes along i can snatch it up in a heartbeat! You lucky duck! Im not into the show scene much ive gone to a couple but have never entered in any. Maybe when audrey's restore is done then i will show it if you haven't ever seen a restored cb750 k0 it is quite the sight, they are so much alike but so much different from the newer 750's, they have much more power and a sound that is quite suprising coming out of the original exhaust, and the fact that restored they range from $15-28,000 dollar bikes blows my mind to this day.. but the cost of parts for them does as well.. but man id like to find an old brit bike!

I have been into bikes since I bought my first mini-bike at age 14...... am now 56. Been through a lot of bikes, right now I am into collecting and riding rare Ducatis. Seems like since I started getting rare stuff that I get deals from time to time on almost everything. Last spring I bought a Yamaha 185 scooter for $225. It had a starting problem which even the local Yamaha mechanic could not fix. I fixed it, rode it all over hell for the summer then traded it to a buddy for his BSA rolling basket. It will take about a grand, including professional paint and total engine rebuild for it to look like new. I try to never pass any kind of bargain. I even had a K0 last summer. I was working on my 550 Honda in my back yard and some guy who I did not know, stopped and said there was a bike across the street from him in an estate sale. He said it was rough and he didn't want it. He also said it was a 69' 750 four and they wanted $1500 for it. The next day my wife and I went to the estate sale, I checked the bike out.......and......sure enough it was a 69' sandcast which had been sitting about 15-20 years in this dead guy's garage. The wiring was screwed up and he just parked it. I kicked it over to make sure it wasn't frozen, it wasn't and had good compression. It was mostly there, only a few things missing. But it was super ugly having been in the garage all those years and covered with dirt and a little rust. I told my wife I was going to buy it, she said the bank was closed the next day and I couldn't get my cash. Then she offered to loan me the money which she kept around the house just in case our college age son got put in jail. I told her to buy the bike and I would make her some cash, so she did. I talked the guy down to $1200 (cheap bastard that I am), gave him a deposit and said I would go home and bring the cash the next day. I went home that night, got on the SOHC website, got a few emails that night, got the bike the next day, talked to the guy who sent me the emails, took some pics and sold the bike for $4000. We had the money in three days and he had the bike picked up the next week. It looks like new now...... verrrry nice. I always used to wonder how all these guys got such bargains....well..... I found out. Never pass up a real bargain my friend, even if it puts you in a bind to do so. My last bargain........ a super sweet 91' 851 Ducati Superbike.....$4200..... two thousand dollars cheaper than I have ever seen one sell. Yep, bargains and deals are out there for everyone, you just have to take advantage of them...... even if it hurts.
