Hey guys, I've been lurking the site off and on for awhile now. I have a few bikes sitting around in various stages (short attention span what can I say), last year I picked up a 75 honda cl360 from a co-worker for $500. It runs really well and he had owned it since he was in high school.

a few months before that I scored a 73? Kawasaki mach III 500 from a friends brother, we had been talking about bikes and I mentioned I would really love to find an old kawi triple. He says "really, because I have one sitting in my backyard if you want to buy it for $500". Of course I was all over that but it does need a lot of work.

My other project that I've been working on for what seems like an eternity is my 1979 Harley Ironhead Sportster, total motor and tranny rebuild, upgraded to andrews y cams, rigid frame, fabricator kevin rear caliper mount and tokiko caliper..more work than I care to list and right now it's sitting as a roller in my garage till I can afford to dump more cash into it ;D

The plan is to cafe the cl360, not exactly sure what I want to do to it just yet but I have some ideas and i've been looking through the site for inspiration.

anyway, here are some pics

Welcome to DTT. Love the HD. Any more pics of the 360? Seems to be some interesting things going on there... For one, that is definitly not a cl exhaust.

Hey Thompson, I'm in Yulee/Fernandina. I lived in jax for 10 yrs and couldn't stand it anymore, needed some room to breath.

Von, I don't have any other pics of the cl right now, the only things i know aren't stock on the cl is the exhaust, which was changed over to a 2 to 1 and the bars are mx style. I'm dumpin those and going with some black clubmans.

The honda doesn't look nearly as nice as it did in the pic, I had to store it outside covered with a tarp for about a year and the weather got to it, chrome doesn't last long in this salty air. So it has a bunch of rusty chrome now, the sun faded the plastic airbox covers and one day i had it sitting out by my tool shed after having the battery on the charger and my stepdaughters boyfriend decided to sit on it and play around while I was at work, since it only has a center stand and he knocked it off balance it fell over and slammed into the corner of the shed, putting a nice big dent in the gas tank and breaking my front break lever off

I have a garage now and the bikes are getting some much needed TLC

The sportster is a never ending project, I got it from a shady bike dealer a few years ago (thompson, stay far away from atlantic motosports) took the bike home, drove it around for all of 4 hrs and the transmission came apart, this is after they gave me receipts showing a rebuilt transmission. I fought with them for awhile trying to get them to repair it and they finally took it back to the shop where it sat and they kept telling me they "couldn't find parts". I finally took it home with the tranny in a basket and got all the parts I needed from JP Cycle.

after that found hardtail frame, totally rebuilt the motor (jugs, rings, pistons, valve job, cams) and much more work....still much more to go. Planning on getting back to work on it over the winter, I have a great mechanic friend to help me, one of those Mcgyver type who can fix or build just about any damn thing.

anyway, enough rambling thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about the troubles with the dealer you bought your HD from, but you're with friends now.

Looking foward to seeing the build thread.
