Hey all,
I'm new to the forum and to be honest new to building bikes. I spent hours as a kid in the garage with my father replacing, cleaning carbs, etc but just purchased my first engine, a 1980 CB750K (DOHC). The owner told me the CAM chain was stretched and sold it to me for 50$. I have torn it down completely and separated the crankcase. So far the only major problem I have noticed is a few burned valves and one possibly bent (have not yet removed valves from head). I have just started cleaning, next step will be to spec the parts, replace parts as necessary and rebuild. Then I will begin collecting parts to build the rest of the bike:) This forum has already provided me with a lot of useful information. I am an engineer by trade and have found some of the theory posted on this site to be incredibly accurate and very interesting. I really appreciate everyone's contribution to this site, it is a wealth of knowledge.

Cheers, get the beers in.

Aloha Paul,

Sounds like a fun project.
A couple things come to mind...

Do you have the service manual for the bike? Maybe it's online on a forum somewhere? That'll help a lot.
You might want to replace the valve seals since you're in there and the bike is 33 yo.

Bet you'll have it up and running in no time.
