"Putting the Duh in Honda since 1962 !"
So I'm not finished with my first build and already bought another bike for buils #2. Need a little advice. Bike #1 is a 67 CL350 new bike is a 71 CB450. the 450 is mostly there, but siezed motor. ($100)

#1 what is the basic proceedure to check out a siezed motor. form simplest to "oh my god you own a boat anchor"?

#2 anthing special I should know about the 450's?

#2 if the motor is toast will the front end fit be a direct bolt on for CL350 (disk brakes etc?)

Sure it's seized? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I've had a person tell me his engine seized when his electric start didnt work. If it is, you're going to have to tear down anyway. Start at the top and work down. btw how long since it last ran?

10 years or so. is there something I should put in the cylinders to let soak so they might free up ?

oof thats a long time. yeah before I'd try to turn the crank I'd spray a good amount of WD40 in the cylinder... let it soak a while then as gently as you can try and turn the crank. If it were me I would just invest ina topend kit and pull it apart. Peace of mind guarantee.

A 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone works great. If it's seized from sitting you may be OK, if it seized due to mechanical failure that's a whole other thing. The fork swap should be fine just make sure you get the right size bearings.
