No truck, no problem

No Purple Hearts, No Blue Ribbons
Needed to transport two DT250's and a hardtail BSA frame. I don't own a truck, just my trusted Scion xB.

Works for me:

I told Brad if you put a moving blanket across the 3, you could have fit a fourth bike in there.

Is there no towing options for the Scion?

Oh yes they do....

Mad science bitches!

I think that they are called the xBox in Japan.

If I tried to to tow something with my car, the transmission would fall out. The 1.5 litre 223,000 mile motor just isn't made to tow.

No faith Justin. No faith...its a Toyota! They tow shit.

Mad science bitches!

Justin that's awesome, I have a 3/4 ton 454 Chevy that I am trying to sell, fuel mileage is 10mpg, I peeked in one of those Xb's yesterday, mini van shopping with the wife. Neat little car. Heck if an AVEO can tow, I think your Xb could also. I would like to travel and pick parts off bikes but with my truck, its not worth it to me at 3.50 a gallon.

MINI's can tow too :) - not mine but I do have a hitch kit for my Clubman and a little 4x4 trailer I am setting up for 1 bike.

Justin where in the world did you get those ? ;D The guy that help me with the welding on my XS builds hitches for the coopers and ships them out west to some guy . Will see if i can find the site !

Justin get with brad and the two of you could whip a hitch out in no time. I made one for our caliber. It was a little tricky and tight as crap but turned out sweet. the caliber is a dog but I pull a trailer all the time. Making it yourself and you can go class III with a 2" receiver. I know your rig will pull a trailer if my caliber will.

Harbor freight sells one of those trailers without the deck and rail. They are on sale right now for $189 us. I've read good things about them.

I was considering one to pull behind my gold wing. Decided to make something like this only it will have a removable single motorcycle rail:

I've got the trailer already - was likely originally bought from HF. Just need a grease seal for one hub. I also have the wheel track, so just need to put a deck on it and figure out where to put the front wheel to ensure proper tongue weight.

The MINI hitch kit is in a box in the rafters - been there for a couple years - need to install that too but that's an afternoon with some wrenches and wiring so no big deal.

I think it will make a nice rig to pull behind the cooper. I've read that some guys feel their a little over sprung and remove a leaf to help smooth it out. Would want to do some testing before removing leaf right before taking off for the salt or Barbers :D
