Well Hello Everyone,
First I would like to say i'm Derrek and Im a Noob. Heres what I have, I bought a Honda cb450 its a 1974. I bought this for 400.00 with a title and it was running. My plan is to cafe the bike. So far we have got it running with a new battery, spark plug, oil change, bleed the brakes. The gas tank was rusted but I well my friend Daryl performed the cleaning and sealing of the tank with a 3 step process.
Right now the gas tank and the side covers are being painted white. I have ordered new switches, and throttle and grips to go along with my clubmans.
My next step is going to be removing the gauge setup and buy a new headlight bucket and put a gauge in that from http://www.benjiescaferacer.com/ *question speedo gauge or just have an RPM gauge?
After this I plan on getting a seat. Now there are so many options and universal seats i'm stumped. I have no idea what fits what looks good. Sometime down the road I plan on getting a tank/seat combo from BCR but money is short. So I might go with a seat from http://www.roccitycafe.com theComposite Interceptor Cafe Seat. I'm not sure what everyone does to these bikes i'm kind of learning as I go. I know for a fact I want rear sets. I plan on making these myself.
