Not working on Eileen!

Man you guys really cleaned up that old church... I love to see people preserving buildings like this. It doesn't happen out here on the west coast, everyone is so quick to tear it down and build something new. It really bums me out... I have a bit of the traveling bug in me, and on all my travels I have come to realize how young thins country is. Everywhere else they have buildings and architecture that are over 500 years old. We are lucky if we keep a building up for more than 100 years.

That looks like it is gonna be a great wedding, Congrats Man!

The church is what, 259 years young? It really is incredible.

So far my house has survived 139 years.

The barn where my wife and I had our wedding reception was built in the early 1700's. All of the nails used in its construction were wooden.

Ya see thats exactly what I am talking about... you never see that on the west coast...

Thanks everyone for the kind words. We have put in a ton of time making this place look like people care about it! It is something that we will have for the rest of our lives. It really means a lot to us to do this for the old church, the community, and for our family. I have many more projects to complete over the next few weeks, so I will get pics of it all and the wedding. Thank you all for you words.

Well it has taken me a while to upload and organize all the pics. I still have not gotten the pics from our photographer (and won’t for a while) and I have not uploaded pics from the reception yet. People keep asking to see pics, so I am uploading what I have. Thank all of you so much for all the kind words you have given to Amy and me. I really appreciate the thoughts.

Here we go, starting with some of the stuff I made for the reception. When I upload the reception pics, you can see all of this in use.

All the locals drove these little two cycle bikes, all look the same but had about four different manufacturers, two I had never heard of, but they were anything from 100cc to 125cc. You would regularly see three dudes rollin down the road on one! They did like to mod the headlights and remove all badging!

i love punta cana... i was over there 6 years ago. great place.

hell, thats ones big smile on the misses face when shes in the church.

congrats man.

P.S. SWEET DTT REP!

Amazing job on the church, the place looks down right awesome. From personal experience the old buildings take time and money to keep together, but the charecter and charisma they provide is second to none, I grew up in a farm house built in 1740 and now my parents are selling it to you my younger brother, which is great to know it will still be taken care of and not run down.

All of the things for the wedding look stunning as well, that bar is bitchin! My wife and I got married last August and, very similar to you, tried to do a lot of the things ourselves, to save coin as well as enjoy the experience. Enjoy it, marriage is awesome!

Thanks ^, do you have a build going? I am a fan of GS's

Check my build and give me a link to yours, I have found that new builds are difficult to find with so many now!

Thanks again, and I would love to see some pics of that old house!
