nothing special, just another bastardized cb750...

Ok you two, that's enough joking around. This is a serious bike build, and I will resume work on the most bad ass cafe racer as soon as I finish my cigar and a waffle.

Fuckin' hipster.

k john, heres some more hipster bs for ya!

I'm done designing the top tree. Its gone thru a couple formats, almost went with this unimaginative block.

Then started on this. The white lines will be the relief pocket and the tensioner slots

Coming soon to a half assed hackjob near you!

oh for a home 3d metal printer i want one of these

So, now that you've got a fancy computer sketch how does it work? You throw a block of aluminum in a machine and it does the work? Or, some hands on work is required?

go for the 100k 3d printer i wanna borrow it when your done

or give me its ip so i can send print files to it

While I would love to have an expensive 3d printer, ill probably never trust the parts on one for hard use. Guess I'm old fashioned that way. Anyways, yes, lots of hands on work, but also a lot of cnc work to do.

First I will attach the block of aluminum to this jig. Drilling holes at the proper spacing at 35mm diameter, and then bolting it down. Once it is on this jig, I can move it between machines without losing the setup.

Then it goes in here. Sadly, this cnc machine is busy making parts for french lawn mowers at the moment, so my hobby has to wait.

Then its on to a manual mill where i will do the tension slot and bolt holes. Time to hurry up and wait i guess :-/

i felt that way till i watched a engineer buddy at a large premier water jet company get a prototype high pressure nozzle line

3d printed than tested to 10k psi and then install and run it at 5 k psi THAT OPENED MY EYES A BIT

they make my oil filter adapters on one of those auto feed turret cnc lathe thingys

As in, the oil filter adapter plates for using normal oil filters? You got any for sale? This project needs one

And, that is pretty impressive about the water jet tip. I didn't know the 3d printing had come that far. Wonder how tight the tolerance can get? I like to stay +-.0025 of most stuff

HOLY SHIT AN UPDATE!!!

Ok, this portion was done at work today. Its sort of an experiment to test the viability for selling them to the masses.

There's still some more work to do to it, and its gotta get lighter too.

Here we go again.. finished the top yoke finally.

Here it is on the bike. Still got a little spit and polish to go, but the heavy work is finished on it

Sure is, since this project moved over here ;-)
