We have designed a new swing arm for the Honda CB750. Our current bike is a 1978 CB 750K. This swing arm will be a direct replacement to the current one and it weighs 2lbs less than stock. It will also have Sealed Roller bearings and our own Stainless Steel swing arm bolt. We are in the process of doing FEA test then some real world testing. The swing arm is also being designed around Progressive Suspension's 970 rear shocks. This will allow for maximum tune ability to the bikes suspension.

Sweeeettt. Whoever did the modeling work is on point. Nice lines! Cool use of i-beams.

Wow, that is a thing of beauty... how much are they going to run?

what are the dim? is it stock length and width, or is it tweaked a little?

Except for the tooling marks, which could be made non-existent pretty easily, that is one of the best looking swingers I have seen to date for the 750, great job!

Im adding this to my must have list! How much? And are there options to get a raw non-pretty one whenever they are available for sale?

I am curious why you kept the clevis mount for the shock and didn't design it to take an eye-to-eye shock?

Aw crap! I'm doing a 750 this winter and now you guys are going to make me spend more money on it. ;)

Thanks for the kind words. I promised almost a yr ago to the date we would be doing a swing arm. Well it took a yr but dammit we're doing it. A few people had some questions about the swing arm and I will try and answer them all.

1. Price ??? Don't know yet it's not finalized should know in about a week or 2.
2. DOHC, Swing arm Not yet but we will. Might need some dimensions from the DOHC Guys. It means you will need to remove your swing arm.

3. Dimensions Not completely finalized but more room with a fatter tire. The Swing Arm will improve the bikes Geometry we can promise that. Those aren't tooling marks its a rendering on a program called Solid Works. The final stage before machining.

4. Title of my thread not the best but when I showed a friend those were his exact words!

5. We Don't do raw non-Pretty sorry... Not what were after. You can do what ever you want once you buy it:)

6. LINGO :D GETS THE GOLD STAR!!! Since this was the first rendering it was mistakenly drawn with a clevis mount. We were in the process of making running changes so I thought I would put this pic out to see what people thought. Sorry LINGO you don't win anything other than being attentive to detail. That has to be good for something.

Our final question to you all is what type of demand do you feel there could be for this and others? Kaw,Suzuki, etc...

Thanks in advance everyone

Maybe consider clevis or eye mount with a tab that bolts in flush with the swinger. Keep the guys who want a bolt on part happy along with those using modern shocks as well.

Funny, i wrote my question and then tried to write a compliment on how good it looked and they all sounded half hearted. Beautiful work guys. Glad to know that we are on the same page on the shock mount. Next question, will it fit my cb450? ;)

If its billett, some taped holes to bolt on a clevis or eye mount would be mint.

I would absolutely let you borrow the swing arm off of my '79 CB750L (same frame dimensions as a K) if it meant you'd start offering a DOHC swing arm. I am serious. The bike is getting torn down this fall and winter, and I can part with it for a while. Well, until I need to fit the new rear wheel and suspension that is.

I think there is a decent demand for aftermarket swing arms. I've been looking for something for a while now. Most of the ones I've seen for jap bikes have been for the sohc cb750. But if you had something for the zookie gs's and kawa kzs, you'd make a lot of people out there happy.

Grant it look purdy but i have some doubts about its rigidity in the lateral plane compared to say a conventional box section swingarm. I beams have very different characteristics than Box sections. It looks like it would be stiff at the front, but you need the FEA first of both designs and then you should deflection test on a rig and test for deflection and strain.

See DR Rob Tuluie's Tularis story for details.

BTW, I suspect I need to be sitting down with a strong sedative available when you tell us the price ;-)
