1970 Bell Super Magnum...it's pretty beat up, so I might paint it and re-line it to make it something worth looking at!

Nice find!! Don't you dare touch it!! You don't wanna take the infamous "NOS Butcher" handle from Noel!!   :D

+1 Any modification would result in devaluing of the helmet, if you really cared about stuff like that.

Where the hell did you score that? Probably the most valuable helmet ever posted on DTT.

It was my dad's very first helmet, back when he rode a 1970 Triumph Daytona 500...unfortunately he didn't keep the bike all this time.

(shudder!!) :-\ :-\ :-\

Here is the start to my growing helmet collection. My first lid was a "retro" look black and silver leather covered helmet that came with gogges. I use this one for most of my daily riding now as it is new, comfy and looks the part. It does sit up high like most modern lids, but not too bad. Its shown on most of my pics of my bike.

Here is my 3/4 Bell that I bought with intention of adding a JT Racing mask. You cant argue with the look that it creates. I bought the helmet from Ebay for next to nothing, as they are pretty common. The JT Racing Mask on the other hand, well lets just say I had to have it and they are not so common, thanks again Noel! It started out red and I stripped the decals off and painted both the helmet and mask satin black. I will add some 3m black reflective tape of my own design soon, again, well cuz it looks badass. In the pics I have the liner out as I just shot the paint, but I cleaned it out and now its almost like new. My plans for this will eventually be a LSI black glitter helmet as I think it will look good.

My other helmet is a old Original Romer-Helm. When I bought it, it was in sad shape. Someone tried to paint it gold with candy red on it. While the concept looked pretty cool, and I actually thought about redoing it the same, I decided to bring it back close to original. Initially it was white, but I think less bright white then what I ended up with. Also the tape around the bottom was a silver relfective tape. The front had a black padded "visior" that I still have but didnt put on. I am debating on recovering it and putting it back. I bought some WWII goggles for it that need some help, but for now they work. When I got the helmet, it was nasty, I mean I wouldnt even put it on your head. Lots of scrubbing with toothbrush and simple green took off the mold and nasty that was inside. The green lining was almost brown, but now its clean and fits me snuggly. Its a pretty small helmet and sits nice and low. The leather has been conditioned again and again, now acceptable. There is still some paint from the PO who did a poor job.

After sanding off PO nasty work...

I am looking for a full faced helmet next, I love the first gen Bandit helmet, but I gotta find the right one as they are crazy expensive. Well thats it for now....

I don't want to take this thread of track so if anyone is interested email me at thanksforsayingthanks@gmail.com I'm not going to take a huge hit on the helmet because I like it enough to keep it as decoration. I pad $240 I'll take $210 shipped or $200 if you live around dfw and want to pick it up.
I all so want to give http://oldschoolhelmets.webs.com/ my praise if anyone is looking for a custom striped helmet this is the guy to deal with. Email replies sometimes minutes after I sent mine, I'm talking even the ones at I sent at 2am. Fair prices and a fast turn around left me really impressed with his services.

just finished my lastest project tonight. i won an old silver metalflake helmet on ebay and it showed up yesterday. it was pretty gross in side so i figured id give relining it a try. must say im pretty happy with how it turned out, given i have no experience with this. the photos are pretty bad, but the material is red crushed velvet.
