I bought a 1973 Yamaha TX500 last year and it had 4700 miles on it. Motor was frozen up, carbs were shot and a whole list of issues I had to sort out. Well it is now running and I don't want to have more issues if they can be avoided. So I keep reading that I need an oil cooler for it and was wondering what every one has and where did you mount the cooler?

I was looking into a remote oil filter kit such as this one I found on Summit Racing.

Then hooking that up in line with an oil cooler I also found on Summit Racing.

VonYinzer the plan was to run the oil from the oil relocation mount to the oil cooler then to the relocated oil filter and back to the mount.

Yeah the whole nonexistent oem oil filter deal . there is one method that relocates the filter and uses a commonly available filter . I'm guessing the real question is filter before cooler or cooler before filter .
Actually I don't see th point in a cooler either but then again see my sig ...
