Damn those are some nice looking bikes! Especially that mono shock street legal one.

It's an odd one. high price TZ250E replica for teh track or but with later L type front fender look and Dymags. Banshee/RZ motor. Tank's an interesting shape. I love that they are trying to offer a street legal 2 stroke but not sure how they plan on meeting Euro 4 emissions......

What is the market?

Wish them all the best, but I have some doubts that they will sell (m)any unfortunately

It's probably not going to be a mass market machine!

While it has little chance of commercial success, I can't help wishing them well. Nostalgia for the days of the TZ leads us into wishful thinking that sometimes gets expressed in metal.

Every new stroker built makes a rider insanely happy!

I sold my TZ250A with big drums a few years ago and the TZ250E that had the TZ750 top end on it. Down to an RZ and a few GT750 projects to keep the blue smoke flying.

You do realize that we are relying on you to give us the state of the art 2 smoke vicarious fix with your RZ project, don't you? :)

teazer - the only fixes that I'm getting are vicarious! But I did get some good news about the RaZoR today.

The chambers will be appearing in the metal soon(ish).

Crazy, I'm finding that design of a chamber is the easy part of this. I had a pair of cones cut and welded for a Kart project and that cost me 80 bucks plus shipping. The cones were really well cut and rolled but unfortunately they were the wrong lengths and that was my fault. I sent the right dimensions and a pdf file and that wasn't printing accurately, so I re-sent the dimension. Either I screwed up the dimensions, or aliens took control of my brain for a moment but bottom line is that I'm 90 bucks out of pocket on a pro bono project.

I blame the aliens. Where's the tin foil? :)

On the dyno, I tested three sets of pipes back to back and the spread was ridiculous, versus stock, one set lost a little at the top end and one set made an extra almost 20HP - no other changes were made. next tests are filter v's stack with and without screens. I don't expect that to show very large difference. After that I have some changes to the the low power pipe to test.

After that I need a better paying job or a winning lottery ticket- or a vicarious 2 smoke fix.

I wish I only had $90 at stake!

For the RaZoR chambers I have a dyno and road-tested set of dimensions; one of the main difficulties has been to get these to fit on the bike while retaining the centre-stand.

It's looking like it's been sorted now, so the next major task is to create the bodywork.

Soon(ish).

The guy building them works to a different time-scale to the rest of us! Besides, he is in the midst of the classic (car) racing season, and this is his main source of income.

Ehhh. Why do you want a centre stand? I may have missed something, but, you don't need a centre stand. Just get a rear racing pit stand. Tuck them bad boy chambers in tight for ground clearance! ;D

Now... a well thought out and well placed side stand? That is a "must have"! :D

Just my opinion. ;)

Oh ya. Those bikes are very, very cool! 8)

Drewski - I like the convenience of a centre-stand for chain adjustment, wheel removal, tyre changing ... can't take a pit-stand on trips.
And with these pipes the side-stand was problematic also.

Ya, that's a good idea for a bike you're taking longer trips on. Mine only takes short trips! :D I truck or trailer it for longer hauls! :)

My side stand had to be totally switched around. Cut it off, welded on a tab further forward and bolted on a zx7 side stand. works wonderfully! :D

What length trips do you expect to take with it? 8)

I have to say that I've never been much of a 2-stroke fan (not that there's anything wrong with that), but that is one damned sexy looking little scoot.

Drewski - I'm aiming to do occasional Sydney to Melbourne trips which are about 900k (560m) each way by the shortest route. That's about the maximum distance I can ride before it starts becoming a chore.

Most trips will be shorter, around 300k (186m) each way, and over two days.
