One's I should have kept

It would have been nice to keep all the old bikes that went through my hands, but there are things that can make up for it. First is having had them at all to ride and tinker with, and second is having bikes now that are so cool it is hard to believe.

I had a Goldie european clubman, an xr750 harley along with a few other factory harley racers, a late G80cs Matchbox, 50 T-bird, Bonnevilles, Spitfire etc. and they were all interesting bikes but I am glad that while getting rid of all them I kept the best featherbed Nortons and kept trading towards specializing in that specific area.

I dont' feel like I own the bikes I have, I am just taking care of them until they move on to other places, they are aging much better than I am. The last bike I will get rid of is my father's old 61' Matchless trials bike. I would rather have it than the works and factory Norton racers etc..

Wow you guys with the Cobras are making me envious....for me it's the ultimate looking car...real muscle. The only modern car that comes close is maybe the Viper. There is no substitute for cubes as they say. I did own a 427 replica for about 6 years, and loved the looks it got. I didn't list it as one I should have kept, because although it looked beautiful, it was only powered by a ford V6, 2.3 litres.....I could never run to one powered by a big yank V8.
I love big V8's.....so I have a 94 C4 Vette now, which I have owned since 05...it don't stop or turn, but I just don't care...I still love it !

Ahh yes, the Corvadilac....

mitchellsk,
The Wagoneer looks great! What happened to it? I have a 1990 GW and, like you said, they are fantastic vehicles. Are you on IFSJA?

The 1969 convertible VW Bug I got on eBay for a $1500 Buy It Now running and driving. I happened to catch it about 20 minutes after the owner posted it.

I drove the Wagoneer all the way from Memphis to Cincinatti the next day to get that bug and we loved every minute of putting around for about a year til it blew an oil cooler seal. I pulled the engine and rebuilt it from the jugs out and it ran like a brand new engine until I sold it for $4500.

When you drove it people waved and smiled at you constantly. You absolutely can not provide more fun for 4 people for less money.

Here's the Wagoneer I pulled it back with. I drove this until gas prices got too high a while back and the 360 was just killing my bank account. I drove this $900 baby all around the midwest on round trips from Memphis to St Louis, Memphis to Chicago, Memphis to Cincinatti, Memphis to Kansas City, etc... They're fantastic vehicles.

Pulling the the Bug behind this to bring it back to Memphis was like a traveling car show. People would pass the bug checking it out and then pass the Wagoneer checking it out. I'd stop for gas or to eat and people would look and/or walk around them. It was hilarious.

Knew I had it somewhere -

Here's the first Cobra [ RAM replica that we manufactured ] with the current Mrs. B and our then 9 month old daughter Holly.

Pictured outside the Hunnuadierres Cafe on the Mulsanne straight the day before the 24 hours Le Mans race.

The Cobra is still manufactured by my pal over at Realm, and remains the only Cobra replica outside of the US to be personally endorsed by Carroll Shelby.
