Oregon parts Battery Eliminator

I run a capacitor on my cb360 with no problems at all. Headlight runs off of a toggle, and tail is an led. No issues at all. My bike is using an Accel cap for a Harley. I think it was $30. I running a solid state Oregon reg/rec. I know dimensionally the 350 and 360 are identical, but im not sure how they compare on output.

And only then if you have a newer regulator. The older styles relied on an oversize battery to help absorb the extra voltages. Smaller batteries with old regulators tend to cook every couple of months.

What should I look for when looking for a newer regulator? Also wha type of new/smaller battery should I look for?

I'm running the OMP Reg/Rec combo (the VRRPM2-HCB) and a battery designed for backup for alarm systems (like this one: link)

Is the point of headlight on a toggle to reduce inital load on the capacitor? I'm getting a lot of mixed vibes on this deal, but I'm really interested in trying it.

Sort of.

It's more to do with ensuring your coils get enough power. When you're kick-starting your bike without a battery, you need the coils to get as much power as possible so that the engine starts running. Anything else that's using up power is potentially robbing the coils from the wattage they need. If the coils don't get enough power, your bike doesn't run.
