I am looking for that exact frame. Is it also for sale? Do you have the title?
I have this frame from a '77. It has been powdercoated and clear title in my name. I am pretty sure the frame is bent. It can be straightened by various services that do this sort of thing. I also have the original bottom end (rods on down, clutch trans etc) that came with this frame from japan.

Feel adventurous? Make me any offer on these two and figure out how it all gets to you from Los Angeles.

bump.

Sold the airbox and plenum
Sold the pistons/rings.

UPDATED list ( i am really trying to clear this stuff out but somehow more of it keeps finding its way to me).

bent Frame from '77 is clean title - california, has neck bend back and with some twist from slightly off angle head on impact. Some pinch back in front downtubes, Bottom of neck where bearing sits seems ovaled/stretched. Old race just... fell... out. Can be re-done with weld and machine centerbore after frame is straightened.

ENGINE
Mostly complete, but mostly disassembled .. Bottom end is still together from factory - cases never split- and case # is mated to the bent frame (numbers never match exactly) on the title.

--items removed from this engine but good:
oil pump
clutch assy and cover (missing ONE steel clutch plate)
clutch cable - original and not so good
cylinder block all good with perfect fins
no pistons - sold those already
cylinder head - really clean - bike had 20k on it.
Cylinder head cover (from 75 model - non-pinned rocker shafts, good condition
TWO cb550 camshafts in good condition with cam sprockets
At least 15 extra rockers
two cb550 camshaft tach drives
Intake manifolds with rubber carb mounts (these are hard - prob wanna replace but could work)
breather cover (i have two of these)
Sump - one is still on the bottom end and I have an extra
Full Carb rack - unrestored with Choke cable attached
plastic intake plenum - needs rubbers
I sold the airfilter box
4-4 exhaust with collars and flanges - check photos for detail
left side engine cover -good
countershaft sprocket - good, but a tad rusty
--fyi i have a clean set of oem cb500-4 pistons with new rings (I built/restored a bike for a friend who then decided he a big bore top end instead with port work and... anyway, we opened it up and did that so these nice pistons and fresh rings are available.)

ELECTRICAL / controls / brakes
Ignition points plate complete/original
points cover - ok chrome - slightly dented like all of these are.
Full wiring harness with side electric plate- very dried out, some connector parts are cracking. Lots of it is fine though
Coils and plug wires - original with oem 1234 numbers still in place
Right hand throttle and switch 1978 model - in good shape - throttle cables are ok
(I have several other bar switches from various bikes in various states to be mined for pieces and parts - both Left and right sides)
Horn
rear brake pedal, pivot that goes through frame and actuator/.adjustable rod with special tail nut complete
two gear shift levers
a couple different hand brake and clutch levers
Fork ears with turnsignal stalks and one good lollipop t/s, one you need replace.
no rear turn signals
Master cylinder (looks good, may need an internal rebuild)
OEM brake lines (might have one or two extras also) cracked rubber
front brake caliper hanger/adjuster
rear brake switch
sold the front brake switch
Sold the caliper

CHASSIS
black 1978 fuel tank, one main dent (pop or bondo-fix for repaint your choice) and the clearcoat/paint is peeling. on ebay now - see pix -
that tank has Very minor interior rust
seat pan (no foam or cover)
rear wheel complete with hub and brake shoes etc still has super #$%*ty tire on it
rear wheel brake "stay" attached to swingarm
front wheel disassembled. good hub and rim - needs spokes
Fork LOWERS and OEM springs (needs upper tubes)
Swingarm
centerstand
kickstand is bent/#$%*ed up - could be straightened i guess.
Rear fender with small dent right where the grab bar would pass over it (no grab bar - and already sold the taillight) - easily popped out imho - good chrome
No front fender
Lots of ok OEM bolts from every system on the bike - i replaced most stuff with stainless allens on the rebuilds i have done. threw away any that have f'd up heads or threads
Some engine mount plates but not all.

I prob forgot some odds and ends. There are a couple boxes with lots of bits in it in my garage... I have various oem small parts like orings, gaskets and bolts and other stuff that is prob worth (or rather, cost me) like $100 in a box i didn't use... I have various unused gaskets and orings (like 3 extra for cyl head cover, etc)- head gaskets for cb500 and cb550, ...

How much for the front brake setup. Rotor, caliper, bracket, the whole works?

I sold the (rather crummy) caliper and piston already. Also don't have the front brake inline pressure switch.

I still have for sale:
--the good master cyl/right switch/throttle combo with throttle cables and brake lever and wires
-- very good rotor
-- wheel bolts that hold rotor on
-- all brake lines and lower pipe
-- good front hub and rim
-- brake caliper "hanger" arm and pivot stud with the piece that bolts all to fork leg.

If it was me I would order a m/c rebuild kit (4into1) ...and I would put in stainless brake lines from Slingshot Cycles.

Tell me exactly what from this list you want and I will price it ok?

how about $30 plus flatrate usps shipping (in the smallest box in which this will fit with packing/padding).
via paypal.
