Patching Frame

I'm prepping my cb360 frame for paint and noticed a dent along the bottom of the frame evenly on both sides. No cracks but there is a small dent in each tube and the paint chipped so a lil surface rust.

I got a lil carried away with my flapper wheel while removing the rust and flattened out the frame tubes by removing material. I plan on keeping the bike for a while and don't really push it so I'm not sure if any repair needs to be made.

My concern is that the frame material might be thinned out where I ground down the rust and some of the surrounding metal. It's in a strange spot that can't be easily cut out and replaced so what would be the best way to repair it if necessary?

There are no visible cracks or holes or anything and the metal is not rusted through.

The area where bare metal is showing is where the dents were.

You can kind of see the flatness here from the grinder. If you run your hand over it it's very obvious.

frame tubes are pretty thick, cutting them out and replacing them would possibly make the whole struckture more weaken, because welds can be a weak spot when there are no reinforcements.

i would just leave it alone, can't do any harm unless you almost grinded through the tubing...

One other option is filling the dent with weld (or lead if you wanna learn how to do that) then grind it flat. I won't weaken the whole structure and will fill the dent. That's gonna be a bitch though.

Honestly if you wanna fix it just cut out the dented section then piece another one in. Use slugs that go inside the tube and make sure that you get a good weld all the way around. That will be plenty strong and will require the least amount of welding.
