Exactly. Yeah same thing with dirt bike seat covers. They have a little pocket to start the front with. Always wants to lift. So you have to make it loose so when it's mounted it pulls the right amount. Nice size rivets you used. Glue and rivets should hold no problem. Dirtbikes are just stapled into the plastic seat.

Interesting. I thought about Doug something similar by adhering a piece of wood under the metal layer so I could use staples but the idea of the getting wet turned me away.
This was my first time using rivets, period. They will be used often in the future
that is a fantastic job you did there !!! wow, almost like you knew what you were doing hahahha
i have seen like 3/8" thick nylon flatstock rivet on for 5/16 staples but obviously you did just fine without the extra work
can't wait to see it mounted ;D
This Pendelton sponsored "Gaucho Rambler" model was up on my computer wallpaper for a while. I'm basing the redo of my 175 on it actually (sans sidecar of course).

Great if you have like 2" or more straight line. The manual inline shut off valves are a lot smaller. I would just trust the petcock. Turn fuel off run bike for while should get the fuel out of the line. I use transparent line. It's nice to ba able to shut off and watch to make sure both carbs are drinking

Sorry I should have clarified. I was going to use this for the crossover line from side to side. I have single lines with individual filters going to the carbs from the petcock.
Do you have a different solution for the crossover?
