I got him down to $450 if we fix up the bathroom/heater.

We're working figuring out how to do it. Right now it's $50/month and you'll have access and some storage space (~2 bikes each). We might have other memberships for $25/month for access but no storage and $10/month supporter membership with access only at limited times (night & weekends).

The bad. We need first/last/deposit - $1350 to move in. I figure it will be ~$150-$200 in utils if we did full water/elec/gas/internet. We don't need gas or internet right now so at first we're probably talking less than $100. We might be able find some open WIFI networks for the time being. The bathroom "works" but is a mess, there is a heater but it's not hooked up, no idea if it works.

I'm not 100% sold on this. I like the idea. Parking is going to be a pain. We'll need 15 people or so to make this work. I figure we can get 10 people easy. The rest will take might take a month or two. With 15 people it's going to be tight on parking. There's two spaces in the front, everyone else will need to park on Brighton or the back street. He's cleaning up the side area so we have an outside sitting/eating area. The area isn't great but it's next to the Police station so I don't think we need to worry about stuff when we are there. No windows, and has a security door.

In order for this to work we will need at least 10 people to put up $135. That covers first month, last month and the deposit. I know it's a lot. I told him I would let him know early next week.

We will need to come up with some rules for it's use, tool sharing, guests, etc. I have some equipment that we can share - large air compressor, painting equipment, shelving etc.

Thoughts? Does anyone want to do this for sure? Right now it looks like we have 4 people for sure, we would need at least 6 more to do it.

If it wasn't 45-60 minutes from me I'd be all over it. Trying to find a similar situation for us Beaver County folk. And for what it's worth, my old office is a block from there. The neighborhood is better than its portrayed. Lots of great people and places in the Northside. Hope it works out for yinz.

Pretty cool idea . I would be in but already have my own garage but would be willing to help you guys out with fixing bathroom or painting or whatever .

Yeah. Might be cool to jump in and help fix the place up, but I have my own place, too. Great idea too.

Still in for this. If all else fails, and this takes as long as it looks to be, I will need to move my 80gal compressor, blast cabinet, solvent tank and bike lift to somewhere in June depending on where I get a job and what I move into for the next two years after that. I would be willing to front the majority at that point and just offer memberships. I will be moving closer to yinz, hopefully.

Noel will have 2 more years at CalU in June when I finish my residency and enter the job market. I am not sure where I will work, but I would like to move closer to CalU which should put me closer to yinz.

Cool I misunderstood thought you was comming up more towards the city . Was gonna let ya know about a nice house forsale behind mine .

Let's talk at family dinner tomorrow. Kinda looks like we don't have enough people for the place on the Northside. So far I think we have 4, but we really do need 10.

That's only a few blocks from my house. You'll definitely want to make it good and secure if you plan on having anything valuable in there.

Looks like we got enough people to do it. Working on details right now. We will have some common tools to people to share - big air compressors, paint equipment, tools, etc. Will probably build a couple of platforms for bikes so we can work on them.

We have 14 people signed up so far, still collecting money. Any of you guys a plumber or know a lot about hooking up gas lines? There's a heater in there but the gas line is on the other side of the building. We need about 20' or so of pipe run. Normally I'm all for this type of thing but when it comes to stuff that goes boom I let the pros do it.

gas lines simple... just use some pipe dope on threads / tighten.. then bubble soap when done to check for leaks..

if ya skeered i could prob help..

More that I don't have the tools/experience. I prefer not to blow things up except when I'm trying to do so on purpose. :)

hell..all ya need is a couple pipe wrenches and a tape measure..your local hardware/homey depot will cut and thread any special lengths of pipe ya need

I know I don't know anyone here, but I'm looking for some space to rebuild my engine and do some work in the winter. I live in Bloomfield so this is relatively close. I have no space at all; I do everything in the parking lot that I lock it up in. If there is still some room, I'm interested.

While I'm a little too far away to benefit from this, I talked to Mentat. I have some vinyl decking material that I would donate for any work benches. Once somebody gets an idea of how much is needed, just let me know.

cs - stop in Rocky's II on a tues evening and introduce yourself. We get between 12-24 local vintage riders. We have a good group, and you'll probably get some offers of help. There still may be some room, send christian ( mentat ) a pm.

Rich, as always, thanks for the support.
