Philly - CB360

Hey all,

I'm Tom, a high school senior from the suburbs of Philadelphia. I've been planning my build since september (a lot of in-class sketches) and I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going for.

As a graduation requirement, I'm required to do a "senior project". It can be just about anything, and I chose to clean up/cafe a vintage bike. So I picked this up for about 300 bucks.

I basically just charged the battery and kick it over a couple [read: dozen] times and it fired up. Wouldn't rev past 4k and now it's in a bunch of piece all over my house. It looks quite a bit better in the pictures then it really does. My dad briefly tried to get me to restore it but I decided against it. It'll be getting standard fare - clubmans, knee dents, solo seat, bunch of black paint. Maybe I'll throw some grey in there for color, who knows.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to posting more about the project when I start working on it more consistently.

Thanks guys. It's great to finally be involved around here. Here's some more pics...

Got this from just outside the construction site of my school. It was ripped out of the ground so i just took an adjustable out of my jeep and made off with it slowly.....

- After some time with a saber saw

- Holds my 8.5 ah battery fine. The pan is flush with the bottom of the frame rails. Is tire scrape a real concern here? I'm about 160 lbs

Seat Attempt?

Much much better

As far as color goes, I'm leaning towards a bright green frame with black tank and seat. Any thoughts on Krylon "Farm and Implement Paint"
I won't get too far into this on a member introduction. Look out for this bike in the projects section pretty soon!

ha ha ha ha good grab! i was thinking of doing the same for my support bracket under my seat bump!

haha, don't tell the 5-O's about it but i used an old stop sign for my tail light bracket... don't worry though, it wasn't straight off the street, nobody is gonna blow through the intersection that has no stop sign. haha.

welcome! seems to be coming along nicely.

I messed around with MS paint and this is what I came up with for paint. I'm thinking about john deere green for the frame and black tins.

I haven't seen many bikes with these colors (probably why I'm having trouble settling on it). Let me know what you guys think.

hahaha took me a while to figure that all out. just couldn't put that together

JRK -- that's actually a bright green on the frame. but now I'm thinking about black on orange. That'd be sweet
