bought this about a month ago, stock cl350 (already had the low pipes)
....took the windshield, luggage rack, front fender, tail light, seat, and side covers off.

made a seat, hammered some knee dents, installed some new handlebars, new tail light, some new paint, a little cleanup (and i stress little, notice the grubby nature of the rear wheel!!) adjusted the valves, cleaned the carbs, fixed a leaky float, and thats about all.....

plan on getting rid of the antenna turn signals for something smaller, side-mounting the license plate, and getting some non-jive mirrors for it.

its not much compared to some of the bikes on here....
but it's my own 3/4 tonner....

enjoy...

or laugh.

Dude, Nothing wrong with that bike at all. I like the seat a lot and that front end too! Nice job and give credit where credit is due!

thanks, just trying my hand at this motorbike building business....
the seat is made from random stuff i had laying around, i would like to build something a little nicer, but all in due time.
also i think that a new tank is in the future...used a standard rubber mallet to hammer in the knee dents, which worked out well....didn't need any filler as the mallet was "kind" to the metal. would like something a little boxier.

debating removing the rear fender....

i used to own vespas....then i got into the classic cars (still own a 53 chevy traditional kustom)
always liked the brit bikes/cafe racers, couldn't afford a triumph, so i bought a honda!!!

Great job so far...
I love the turn-out mufflers!!. I had turn-out on my 72 cb350 and it made it roar like a much bigger bike!

hey just curious. i have a 72 cl350 and people told me if i take off the front fender the forks will be all wobbly and not properly braced...seing as how you did take off your fender, have you noticed that to be true to any degree?

Nice bike, I wouldn't be ashamed at all. I'll be working on two 350s pretty soon and won't be putting alot of money into either one. Something to get the ol'lady on the road and a play toy for me ;D

i think your bike is a real cafe racer in the truest sense.it's what a young brit would have created in the '60s to personalize his bike, and say i don't give 2 shits what any body thinks.very cool.

i haven't noticed any unusual wobble without the front fender....i'll put it back on, and go for a little ride tomorrow. see if i notice any difference, and let you know!!

i appreciate the kind words on the bike... i am definately more geared towards the DIY, keep it simple approach. i figure those fellas in the 60's didn't have the abundance of internet deals at their fingertips like we do, and had to make do (or make better) what they had....
i would LOVE to have a polished aluminum cafe tank on my bike.....hammering my own knee dents gave me a satisfaction though that clicking a buy-it-now button couldnt.

again i appreciate the kind words!!!

Just saw this thread. Sweet looking gas tank, nice job on the knee dents and lines! Nice bike overall, the turn out exhaust is cool, almost makes it more vintage looking, bet they sound good too. -MBS
