I thought of that! I have already mocked up a connector that will give me plenty of clearance for my size 13s! I have a friend who specializes in custom muffler/pipe welding, so he's going to help me finish them up. The header has since been cut back a bit, the 2 into 1 will curve back under the bike and then back out to the mufflers, same on the other side.

Where did you get the fairing and what bike is it from ?

Look at Airtech Streamlining. They have a few similar fairings.

My low miles 1978 KZ 650 B project. It's not quite complete yet, but the paint will come with warmer weather. To date the triangle has been opened, the tabs removed and smoothed, the electrics hidden under seat, the Mikuni's rebuilt, built a new chain guard, replaced the handlebars, painted frame, forks, headlight bucket, polished tons of aluminum and bought a new AGM battery that will reside under the hump.
