Tail of the Dragon

Man, I loved the three days we spent at the Gap. I got a ticket for 63 in a 30 on the Tail. Oh well, it was worth it! Met some great folks and hope to return soon. I didn't see any other small displacement or vintage bikes though. :(

Wow!!!!

Looks like fun!!

One of me on Dolores at Barber's this year. I had my 4 into 1 swap meet exhuast in my backpack and couldn't turn my head to the right.

Sweet pics bigpadg! Nice riding too. Way to show the supermoto's how its done ;D What kind of tires are you running on the 350? What ever they are I'll have to consider them for mine. They look nice and obviously handle good.

Avon Roadriders and I love em! Stuck like glue, never let me down over the three days and I could get the rear to slide predictably under hard braking setting up for some corners. 4.00-18 rear and I coaxed a 100/90-18 on the front with almost NO clearance to spare. I'm all for the most rubber I can get on these spindly rims and on the road! ;D Thanks for all the nice comments... I'm new here but checking links and giving love back.

Love the pics of the lean angles. I'm surprised the gear Nazis haven't jumped on this!

I hate to display my ignorance here for everyone (thus the small font!), but gear Nazis? Help me out, will ya?

Not necessarily full leathers, but appropriate protection. Sport bike forums have quite a few gear Nazis because of the numbers of members who have had painful experiences. I have learned over the years to refrain from scolding my fellow riders. It doesn't do any good... So, I'll wear my body armor and leave it at that. Anyway, I have to repeat, awesome pics!

Thanks man, appreciate it.

I have some horrible experiences with Avon tires. Wouldn't fit one again for all the money in the world. No way. Never.

BT45's on My BMW R80 caferacer and Meztlers on my CB750 are doing just fine.

Can you elaborate a bit on this? What type of trouble did you have with them.

Nice pics BTW.

The rear tire, almost brand new, started (and almost succesfully so) to tear open from side to side (on a YZF750R). Very dangerous and unacceptable for such a new tire. They acknowledged the problem, promised me a refund, but never gave me any. And that was Avon itself and not the dealer (I bought it on a holiday with the bike)

Your friend is going to lose his leg if he makes too big a habit of dangling it off his bike like that :p

Awesome bike though!! and even better pictures. Everybody take note. This guy here, he knows how to have fun on a old motorcycle.
