Man, I loved the three days we spent at the Gap. I got a ticket for 63 in a 30 on the Tail. Oh well, it was worth it! Met some great folks and hope to return soon. I didn't see any other small displacement or vintage bikes though. :(

So what engine is in that?

An old Weslake 500 pushrod speedway engine. Put them together right and they are bulletproof.

Well I'm a freshy here and have spent my day off scouring. Thought I'd post some pics.

My new 69 CB 350 I just picked up. To nice to cafe so I'm looking at another one tomorrow to start cutting up. A little hipster I know, but I'll crush skulls when needed.

A TD at NJNP this past weekend. Had more fun on my new CB in the Paddock though, well almost.

A little vid from the mock race we did. More CB pics t come, just thought you guys would enjoy this.

ACE Mock Race 4.17.11

Thanks, once you go track you never go back. Well not really but it's so much fun. The vinage race stuff has really caught my eye lately so my next CB is going to double as a cafe/vintage racer as pushing these old bikes on the track is supposed to be terrifyingly awesome.

Reminds me of our rides through Southern Indiana! No tracks close by. Anyway, that's the view (mock race) I most love about riding sport bikes. No time for sightseeing! Ha!

How is that on a street bike you hang your ass the way you are turning ? on my cb i hang my ass on the opposite side i am turnig . turn right hang left turn left hang right. Or am i mistakenly missing something? Cool vid by the way!!

You what?!? How have you NOT crashed? :-D I use that technique on extreme slow speed turns like a U-turn, standing on the pegs, but not at riding speeds! I don't think I've ever seen that done on a street bike. That seems really counter intuitive to me, like when you tote a girl who has never ridden as a passenger. I have learned real quick to tell new passengers to lean with me and the bike! Needless to say, I hardly ever toted anyone after the first few encounters. Dangerous shit. Hanging off allows you to keep the bike at the most upright position during a turn, maintaining your tire's maximum contact patch. I have seen a few pics of members riding their cafe bikes at some pretty impressive lean angles, something I didn't think our cafe's could do (ground clearance, tires, etc.). I feel totally comfortable doing it on sport bikes because I have confidence in the tires, suspension, and chassis. I don't have a cafe (running) that I have ever had time to really test.

Yes you are missing something. I'd suggest you practice some new techniques before something happens. Not to be rude dude, I just hate seeing people get hurt on bikes. They are dangerous enough and you should learn how to operate one correctly. Please do some youtubeing and some research.
