planning a trip to CO from CA

im hoping to ride my KZ650 to CO next week. should be an adventure. my destination is at 9,000ft in Breckenridge. anyone know if the altitude is going to mess with jets at that point? anyone? am i correct that the air is thinner so i would want smaller jets?
less air= less fuel

I ran the highest alp passes two weeks ago with no issues.
