You didn't have battery connected backwards by any chance?
It's possible it was faulty, get it load tested at Autozone (or wherever)

haha I'll take all the shit slinging, I deserve it...
It was't backwards, just a bad battery I'm guessing... good thing I have my old one (that doesn't hold charge for more than 5 seconds when the lights are on), otherwise I'd still be wrenching on it...
