Welcome.
I was searching good inspiration to build, and i've came here.
I'm 26 year old guy from Poland. From 7 years I was dreaming about my own bike, but some life troubles and lack of money, I was saying to myself "bike - next year".
At last i've bought Suzuki GR 650. It was quite cheep, registered, couple things already repaired. In my head alwasy was a bobber, but when i saw the bike i've thought: It'll be cafe! Imagine, that I'm earning about 1600 pln per month, 1 dolar is for 4 pln in my country :p The bike costed 3000 PLN, parents helped. That means, the build proces will cost me a lot. I always wanted to build bikes, maybe this bike will be the first from many. I have hope for this. Now I'm waiting for another paycheck to buy some parts.
I hope that I'll find here some help and a lot of inspiration. As far as I'm reading the build topics, and watching the photos, complited bikes it makes the energy growing in my veins! Now the winter is coming, so temperature will be very low, but when it'll be warmer, in early march or maybe even in february the build proces will begin :]

Hello to everyone! :]
P.s. I know, my english in writing is lame :]

Dymass,
Welcome fellow GR650 owner! Are you watching 'Big Red's GR650 cafe build?

Another great resource for the GR650 is this forum:

Thanks Dwarf for that link. Indeed its very helpfull with technical problems :]
Ill make the topic in cafe racer section when I'll start to rebuild the bike, cos now its in boxes. I hope to build the bike for Poland Championship of Bike Build, not to winn, but to show up my skills :]

Hey Dymass,

how close are you to the German border?

We have a get together every year - "Beachcomber's Annual Pig-Roast" at my place in Reichenau that's about 35 kms North East from Dresden [ Nr. Konigsbruck ].

I live in England most of the year but get out there as often as possible. We always have the Pig-Roast around July / August time.
Plenty of accomodation, and we always love to see bikers from around Europe.

About 200 km to border. Nearest crossing is in Kostrzyn. But once a year I come there for Woodstock festival. Thanks for invitation, maybe ill check this :) First i need to rebuild the bike, right now it's in boxes, and im trying to get some cash for parts ;]

Thanks for the intervention in my case. I have another question. Could you send me a drawing of parts 8 and 9 of their dimensions? After dismantling a motorcycle, it turned out that the original is broken and I need to earn some extra new, but I can not find any dimensions of these parts. Here are a link to the picture of frame.

I have a photo showing the left side motor bracket and dimensions. The right side is identical, but does not have the hole to mount the shock absorber adjuster.
