Several threads spoke of using a bare steel gas tank, I'm wondering if steel can be handled like aluminum when i comes to polishing??? I striped the replacement tank for my SR500 project and found I like the look of the tank in steel but the metal is inconsistant in color. Can it be sanded with muliple grits to even out the color and then polished like aluminum? it may still be powdercoated to look like polished aluminum but I though I will try this way first.
