Beautiful bike seat, hard too believe that it is from the 50's/60's era... not that I am doubting you. It's just that the style looks a few decades older, very cool

I discovered this in my neighbors garage two blocks away during a yard sale. I wasn't for sale but after four visits to his house and pleading with him he reluctantly agreed to sell it to me. Needless to say, I am overjoyed to now own such great example of a vintage motorcycle. The Bike has been sitting untouched for 20 years in his garage, unwashed and showing just under 19k on the speedo. It is a 1973 R75/5 (LWB I believe but have not looked close enough to tell. It is a late year 73 so I think it is.)
Awesome! Glad you ended up getting it. Now start cleaning it up and seeing what works/doesn't.
Don't take the front engine cover off (the 'nose') without first disconnecting the battery. It is easy to brush contacts on the diode board with the cover shorting it out and burning it to a crisp. I've done it.

Thanks Tim, I plan to drag it home next week and do some long staring sessions and thorough cleaning then photos and I may start a new build thread or restoration thread I should say. My plan, is to keep it pretty stock and get it looking fresh again then rack up some miles!
it's bike related since i used the money out of my "next project bike" fund to get this for my wife. she got her permit to carry a few weeks ago and wanted something small with a punch. it's a ruger lcr in .38 special with night sights.
