Post a pic of your latest purchase

Damn PJ, that's terrible.

Why would anybody risk stealing that? It appears to be very recognizable, and it's not like it could be parted out by somebody that doesn't know a lot about bikes.

"Yeah, I got these crazy carbs and exhaust off some old Honda. No idea what they fit."

Thieving bastards.

Just posted in my 'Build to Blog' thread, if anyone buys this bike, kick the fuck out of seller cos it's been stolen from me
My CJ391 has been stolen
It's in Britain somewhere. Was stolen from shed in South Wales
I'm wondering if it was the same people who stole the last one a few years ago.
I didn't contest that so they got a 'free bike'
This one I'm really pissed about
1977CJ250.jpg

It's real distinctive as it has modified RD350 carbs, 70mm pistons, 'custom' exhaust, Maico rear mudguard, GS125 headlight Yamaha XT350 handlebars, CB250 tank, orange seat, plus, it's yellow.

Dang man that's terrible.

I was very unhappy with my spacer / blower pulley set up on the sidecar. So I drew up a new one piece set up and bought this.

I don't have a lathe but I have an amazingly talented friend who just happens to own a machine shop. I brought my drawing to Dave and explained what I wanted. He looked at the drawing and said "No problem". The next day he calls to say its done! His enthusiasm is almost overwhelming. Now everything will be concentric and hopefully a fit and forget piece. Got enough worries with the unknown )blower).

Did you move overseas pj? Am I going to have to send my next set of carbs fir rebuilding to the uk?

I just picked this 1976 cb360T up. Has been in storage somewhere since 1983 and has only 1200 original miles. Everything seems to be original, tool kit, wiring, fuel and brake lines, paint, exhaust, etc.... It runs and drives. Front brake is a little sticky and the float valve on one carb and the petcock leaks. Its got surface rust on certain parts of the frame but other than that, it starts on the first kick, idles, and is smooth through all rpms. Not sure what direction I should go with this one. I have a nice clean stock cb200t as my current ride and generally like to keep things original but I may just customize this one.

Just some pics of the bike. I'm really happy with this one. Nice to have one that has been molested over the years. Also, after riding the cb200 this bike feels like a beast.. I had a Vmax before I started riding the cb200 regularly and that took a lot of getting used too.

Hoof,

Your killing me, I really was looking for one that I could cut up, then this one popped up and I've been talking myself into it for the last few days.

That is too nice to cut up. What are you going to do? Take a really clean original bike and make it look like everyone else's? Show up at a cafe racer show (or whatever) and park it in the middle of a bunch of cafe racers and sit back and watch how many people will be looking at yours and not the cafes. Find one with missing parts etc and and have at it. That one is just plain too nice and original.

You had me cracking up at this, mainly because it you make it seem so obvious.

Well, It is blatantly obvious. Super clean, low mileage, unmolested. What's the obvious? Polish it, ride it and drive all those who cut up clean, low mileage bikes so they could be individuals just like everyone else. True they were made in their millions but how many bikes like yours remain? They were throw away bikes. Someone took good care of yours. I guarantee you that yours would be the belle of tha ball at any bike show.

I tend to agree with hoof. I have built numerous bikes- cafés, trackers, etc. I only use rusted out shit buckets for these builds. I have come across about 5-6 beauties just like yours and have simply cleaned, fixed , and sold as stock to fund the other builds. Just can't see cutting up a nice bike like the one you have.

Those bikes are beautiful. Please please out down the cutoff wheel and step away! Time capsules...

Yea, I know.
I got caught up in the allure of the Honda, but the Darkside is calling me back. Difficult to resist it is.
