Post a pic of your latest purchase

After a few months, I finally got what I was after. Super clean, not perfect but runs like a top, new rear tire, brakes, headlight, fox adjustable rear shock, and some others. 86' gs1150ef. Oh, and I basically stole it.

Sounds tasty. Had some Woodford Reserve last night. Wish it wasn't so expensive. How much was that bottle or was it a gift?

$116 with tax... not something i do often, Dewars is standard.

It was -23 today so I had to leave it in the shop to warm up a bit after I got home. Then started her up and she settled into a nice idle with great throttle response. Needs some attention to the fairings as a couple of the posts are broken and rubber grommets missing. And the cables all seem sticky, etc. Keyed seat/helmet latch wasn't working either so I took that apart tonight for kicks and the little post inside was busted. So JB'd it and hopefully that'll do the trick. Should be a good long hauler with plenty of zip :)

Very nice! That seat latch may be common to others, if you post a pic I will dig and see if I have one to donate for parts.

I'll start a thread over in restos so I don't clutter things up here. There's a few things on it I wouldn't mind some help with to be honest.

That is a totally awesome bike with a ton of potential to do whatever you want (up to around 320bhp, if you have real deep pockets)

Haha I think this bike will stay close to stock hp. I'll never push the limits of its capabilities anyways. Hard to find them in good shape with so many being dragged.

Picked up some trained squirrels - they smoke and play cards. Wife did up the needlepoint (which was an absolute coincidence BTW) for me for Valentine's.

thats a very reasonable price for those, glad to see you found some for your project. The really make "speed holes" look a lot more professional. Gussets galore! I have been thinking about getting some small ones for details.

I thought I would try a cheap set and see how it goes, the 1" makes a decent cut out but 1.5" would be nice and then jump right up to 3" maybe.

I LOVE those bikes...they make beautiful drag/pro-street machines...

My Ninja is way cooler... Just look at the custom carby cutouts in the frame... I'm guessing this is for engine swapping on pit row??? Any ways $75 with title and bill of sale, should get a few dollars more and some parts out of the deal.

Those cut off pipes were "extra" after the welds for the rear clip. So, it's weight savings.

TOOLS TOOLS TOOLS HAHAHAHA!....im going crazy

This is one of those areas I have stayed away from.

The more I make dust with grinders the more I want to buy just a vice for the drill press to do some fine manual cuts that I would typically use a Dremel or die grinder. Can you tell me how much a small 1/2 horse drill press can handle as far as lateral pressure? do I need a special drill or Bridgeport type machine "only" for small tooling and cutting mild steel and aluminum? I'm in no way looking to hog out Goldie Locks curls just slow small cuts.

RD
