Post a pic of your latest purchase

I didn't think it looked like there was enough room there for it, but that is where they always are as far as I know, thanks. So the other bulbous chromey thingy is the airfilter and the air snakes around to the carb? I have never seen one taken apart although I lusted after my friend's Bighorn back in the day.

On my Greenstreak there was a circular cut out in that side cover with a screen filter all from the factory.

That's a 28mm bored to 30mm Mikiuni off a CR80 I use a bubble 90 and UNI filter on it, cussom cover... works good.

not really a "recent" buy. had this 77 cb550 for a little over a year. but i guess this can serve as an introduction for me as well, seeing as though I've never posted anything. picked up a seat hoop and a nice "brat" seat also a few weeks ago. so thats cool..

Nice looking 550. Good luck w/ your build and welcome to DTT.

thanks! this build won't be as intense as most. i'm happy with virtually all of the looks and style, aside from the seat/taillight/rear fender. just going to replace those, put on new tires, and get up maintenance, and bobs your uncle. your creepy, creepy uncle....

Runs, rides, clear title. 9K original miles.

Body is a bit dinged up, so I'm not going to feel bad building a tracker out of her. Do a front to back wheel conversion, have an RD400 tank that fits like a dream, one of the tracker seats I build, and a top end rebuild (doesn't need it, but they sell better with it).

Traded a lawn ornament of a DR350 (compression problems, leaked oil out of every orifice, etc) and a small stack of 20's for this:

Titled, running, and rideable 1975 GL1000

Well, if he adds foam to the seat then he can't run those handlebars like that. It'll throw the bike off balance. Glad you joined the party, cuz.
