that is a great find too :D good idear to check/retorque all the cylinder and head fastersners , to spec of course

No kidding. Kick starting the bike wasn't working, so I pushed it up a hill to push start it. On my way down the hill I put my weight on the handlebars and they rotated 180 degrees, and I thought I was going to die for a second. Who knows what else needs to be re-torqued

New bucket for my head. It's got to do a better job of protecting my pretty face than the skid lid I have been wearing. I know, it's a Bilt. Stop laughing. It fits great though I think their sizing is a bit off as this is a XXXL. I've got a fat head, but damn I didn't think my brain was that big. Anyway neat modular helmet with out the blue tooth or drop down sun shield that usually hits my glasses. Finding a full face helmet that I can wear my glasses comfortably has been difficult, but this fits pretty good. $80 and they have a seven day return policy, so if I decide to exchange it in the next week there are no problems. From Cycle Gear. No seriously, stop laughing. Lol

1978 IT175. Will make this a trail rider only. It's all there except the rear fender. Can't wait to get muddy on this thing.

I agree to both posts. That back one is actually a modern rear tire. Someone rode it not too long ago. The front is all dry rotted. New rubber is one of the many things it needs to be worthy. Not necessarily to run, but to be fun.

if it hadn't been started in a long while it is worthy to pull the pipe then with a fleshlight you can inspect the bore for rust, if it has rust pull it down ,because you may be able to get it fired but the rusty bore will not do the rings or piston any good at all

Nah, I compression tested it at it held a max of 68 psi. It needs rings at least. I pulled the head but there isn't an overbore marking on the piston. I assume standard bore but will measure for 66mm.

The bore looked pretty dang smooth, glazed but no major issues. Could maybe get by with a hone and new rings but again, I need to measure to see if there is wear or whatnot. Bore-Tech quoted me $70 to bore and hone this little guy so it might be worth it.

Sorry guys I'll start a thread

you can check your piston clearance with feeler gauges... no matter what any internet squids tell you this is a very accurate check if you use .001" feeler guages...if it weren't accurate you woont be able to set valve clearance with a feeler gauge neather
check to the lower skirt front/back just above the exhaust port is usulally most wear unless its a dirt eater then you will find the wear only after pulling cylinder below intake port
the area of the bore below the transfers will have zero wear, so there is the spot to check piston wear(turn piston 90 degress)

Revco water tops!! and the cooler... nice. not sure if they really work that well unless you build a water pump and add a bigger rad.

The water pump is in the photo top left, it's easy to miss
