Nic e Taggat 650 or 1000? I am thinking of getting a new to me touring bike and doing a custom job on the gl. The v is on my short list.

2012 DL1000, used for $6200 bucks with 6500 miles.

I didn't think I would like it but after test riding it, the handling and power are phenomenal with great fuel consumption of 45+mpg.
 
Thanks Eric, I love that bike but I have maybe 2500 not 15-20k that the Africa will cost here. Taggat, the v are not real pretty but they do handle and go very nicely. I would be getting a first gen model if I do.

GS is on my list of must get bikes. I met an Australian woman who works at a Phinizy Swamp Nature Preserve here in Augusta that has literally traveled the world on her GS. I was sold right then and there.

If you just google "derestricting Aprilia Falco" you'll find a bunch of threads about it. Involves sniping a wire and removing some airbox bung. ITs a very simple way to bump up the hp by around 20hp.
 
Reminds me of when I got a 2003 or 4 YZ426 new and they had actually put a throttle stop in it went from ??? to ;D in five minutes.
 
Just picked up this 55 ton Edwards iron worker. Made to shear and punch structural flat and angle. not really for any nice finish work, but you can sure cut through some angle in a hurry, and blow the doors off of a band saw and drill. It has the capacity to punch a 1 1/8" hole through 1/2" steel. This particular one I got from the school where I work. It was here when and before I was in highschool here, and has had hundreds of thousands of flat bar practice welding coupons sheared on it. Need some work here and there. The flat and angle shear blades not only do not have a sharp edge on them, but actually a radius haha

A little work and it will be a valuable asset to my "someday" shop.

funny but not funny, a high school kid just lost a finger tip to the new one yesterday. He will survive, and no nerve damage ive heard, and I think it missed the bone. I hate that it happened, but it also goes to show the kids that this is real equipment and a finger wont even slow it down.
 
Two hands in the beam and a foot press = all fingers safe. I know using clamps and hold devices takes more work but kids do the darnedest things.

You have no idea. The darndest part was the kid lost the tip of his finder on the GUARD and not the BLADE. The flat bar hold down wasn't adjusted down to the stock he was cutting, and actually had a 1/2" or so gap. He got his finger in there while cutting. The downward shearing action brought the stock up and smashed his finger between the guard and the stock.

20hp!?! thats huge! i read about the wire mod, but i will look into the airbox mod. thanks.
