Im looking at a new to me truck now too, and while ive always had chevys, the Toyota dependability is really calling to me. Ive just been spoiled by a long bed and being able to haul bikes with the tailgate up. I haven't seen near the long bed options out of Toyota as you can find in even the older s10 line.

I can fit two bikes, tailgate down. Now, the extended cab has a longer bed. 4 door has 5.5'.

I have a 4 door. Gets around 18-20. Loaded down, two bikes in the bed, and a 6x12" enclosed gets 14-15 to Barber ever year.

Yeah I know lol I just wish there were better new long bed options out there. Seems like everyone is going to those shorter than short bed trucks

haha can't go single cab though. wife keeps bringing up this car seat thing lol. If it weren't for that id drive the s 10 til the wheels fall off

My little bro's new Chevy had a short box on it too. Can barely fit a four wheeler in it, with the gate down.

Yeah, that four door is nice but the sacrifice of the bed size hurts a little.

Guess it's more of a reason to get an enclosed trailer.

My Tundra (extended cab, has a 6'+ bed, but not CrewMax [4' bed]). They have an 8' bed available on their single cab models, but as you noted before, kiddie seats don't work well in those. I was looking at the Toyota web site a while back and it looked like they have "long bed" version of the Tundra extended cab models available. I've never seen one and they must be newer than you want to buy. Sometime when I'm in your neck of the woods I'll drop by if you want and we can wheel a roller or two into my truck to check fitment. I put around 3500 or so miles on it in the last three months and have no complaints. Around 20mpg highway but 8 to 10 pulling the travel trailer :-[ . The biggest complaint about the Tundra I've heard is about the 26 gal gas tank requiring more frequent stops. Is that really a bad thing? Seems to me it's safer and better for your bod & head to take a break every once in a while anyway.

I bought a new 2008 Tundra and test drove a long bed SR5 extended cab. They make them but it may take a while to turn one up.

Toyota has an impeccable record... but has had a few Junker's had a 4Runner that was total shit by 80 thousand miles motor puked head gaskets and destroyed the cooling system, the electrical nightmare was frying plastic weekly also has close to the same time SR5 V6 that the heads warped too same deal same wire issues. I still kept buying tacos tho just too small for me now, I demand comfort lol

Sold my Nissan Frontier and Bought an Xterra Pro-4x. Also sold my Harley and got another CB550. It's like an all new stable at the house haha.
