Why not go for a tracker or Retro Motard (aka Re-Tard) or Cafe Motard (Caf-Tard) or cusp of Motard design which would be Cus-Tard..

Sorry about that last one. It's my British genes showing up at the most inconvenient times.

Haha....missed this the first time around, that's what I get for speed reading..
If you do it twice would it then be a retar.....oh never mind.

I picked this up today to clean my Aero

AzHonda, do those snap ring pilers open up wide enough to remove the snap ring on the rear wheel sproket? need to find some, I might just make something for it. I used flatscrew drivers last time, but dont want to do that again.

Yeas sir, thats exactly why I bought them. Not cheap but they are USA made. They also reverse direction as well. Home Depot, around $20.

This came in a couple days ago from Airtech: quarter fairing from an 83 Suzuki GS650.

Do they make those for the cb550? i love the look of themI like the one that just comes off the top of the headlight also. not as much fairing as yours

They are universal, which basically means you have to custom fit it to your bike. Are you talking about the Thruxton fairing? If so, the yes - they have them in standard and race version (no headlight)

Sounds like you just want a 'Flyscreen'?

My new leathers got here today. Top and bottom, gonna take a little breaking-in. No biggie.

Vintage-style top with modern hard armor and mesh lining, bottom is a little more modern with slider pucks and hard knees.

Need to get photos yet...

Honestly its more for the looks. Ive seen it on a few completed cafe racers and immediately thought it looked really good. Very simple but the look is different. Form>Function lol

Yep thats the one. I just cant believe its $131! But that will definetely be one of the finishing touches on my cafe bike. Thanks for the link. Btw how does that nmount on the headlight. And is a cb550 headlight 7"?

How does what mount? The one I bought or the Thruxton? Either way, it requires some custom work.

I would guess a CB550 has a 7" headlight, but it's just a guess.

So that's the one you were eyeing off Rich... nice! Should work nicely on the GR :D

I'm still thinking I want a fly screen on the 450 to clean up that horrid gauge cluster... and would like a little less buffeting through the twisties at 100kph...

at 100kph, (62mph) the problem is you, not the bike.
Probably need to get to the gym and improve your neck muscles ;D (or just ride more then the muscles you need develop 'naturally' ;) )

I love it when packages show up earlier than expected :D, but I hate it when I have to wait to play with the goods

In Pete's defense, his bike isn't a "cafe". I'm surprised you haven't seen it PJ! It is a prime example of a scrambled restoration.

And thanks Pete! For you, I would look for just a detachable screen. On for touring, off for scorching Australia days.

Bought this tonight. 9 years old with only 1000 miles on it. It's going to get some good adventure bits and armor and ridden all over the map.
